Outraged Texas mom threatens to sue restaurant that kicke...
Wilko Martinez-cachero · 2026-06-27 · via News | Mail Online

A Texas mother who alleged she was kicked out of a restaurant for breastfeeding her five–month–old baby has threatened to sue the establishment that kicked her out.

Aura McCullough claimed she was given the boot from Nowhere Bar in Celina, about 40 miles north of Dallas, as she and her husband Gabriel celebrated their first Father's Day Sunday.

In a TikTok video that has racked up more than 203,000 likes, McCullough claimed that she, her spouse and her infant son were asked to leave because she had her 'breasts exposed for prolonged periods of time' without a cover.

A mother can breastfeed or express breast milk for her baby anywhere in Texas that she is otherwise allowed to be, per the state's Health and Safety Code.

The restaurant issued a rebuttal, insisting that breastfeeding was not banned and apologizing to McCullough and her family, chalking the incident up to a 'miscommunication.'

That did nothing to quell the outraged mother's frustration, who asked for Nowhere Bar's owners to sincerely apologize to her, rather than through a social media video.

McCullough also wants to see video footage of the breastfeeding incident, she told the Dallas Morning News on Friday.

If she does not receive both of those things, McCullough plans to file a complaint against the restaurant, according to the outlet.

Texas mom Aura McCullough alleged she was kicked out of Nowhere Bar in Celina, roughly 40 miles north of Dallas, as she celebrated Father's Day with her husband last weekend

McCullough claimed she was told to leave the restaurant because she had her 'breasts exposed for prolonged periods of time' without a cover as she breastfed her five-month-old son

In the original video, McCullough alleged she was 'kicked out of lunch' at Nowhere Bar for breastfeeding.

She claimed that a staff member had approached her family and 'let us know that we can't breastfeed like that.'

McCullough claimed she was told that she needed to 'cover up,' which she refused to do because she does not carry covers with her.

The female worker was not her waiter, McCullough told the Dallas Morning News.

After asking if someone had complained about the breastfeeding, the restaurant staff member allegedly told her that 'the manager was watching the cameras and said that we can't do that.'

McCullough then asked to speak with said manager, she said, but was told that the employee she was speaking with was in fact the manager.

After that, she alleged she canceled her burger order and asked for the bill.

The employee promptly returned and said that her check was going to be paid by the owner but the family would still have to leave.

'That was extremely humiliating and demoralizing,' McCullough said. 'They ruined my family's first Father's Day, and they shamed a mother for trying to feed her baby.'

McCullough has asked for the restaurant to offer a sincere apology. She has also asked to see footage of the incident that led to her allegedly getting kicked out

In a video response, one of the restaurant's owners, who identified herself as Katie, said the situation was a result of 'miscommunication'

Nowhere Bar responded to McCullough's claims through a video posted Monday on Facebook, insisting that breastfeeding was not prohibited at the restaurant.

'We have never asked anybody to stop breastfeeding, we have never asked anybody to leave because they were breastfeeding and that has not and will not ever be our policy,' one of the owners, who only identified herself as Katie, said.

'As a mother who breastfed two boys in public, I mean it when I say that breastfeeding mothers are very welcome in Nowhere,' she added.

In the recorded response, Katie rejected that the bar was 'watching cameras' when it flagged McCullough's behavior.

Katie claimed that 'everything we know about the situation was reported to us afterward by our staff and our management team.'

She said that a 'young employee' felt 'uncomfortable,' which caused her to ask a manager for assistance.

'From there, a miscommunication occurred and escalated beyond what anyone intended,' Katie continued.

However, the bar owner did not share further details about the miscommunication and reiterated the young worker's apparent discomfort.

'Just as parents trust us to welcome and care for their families when they come visit, parents also trust us to take care of their kids when they come work for us,' Katie said. 'When a young employee brings a concern to management, we take that responsibility seriously.'

If McCullough does not get an apology, she is reportedly planning on filing a complaint

The bar said that a 'young employee' had felt 'uncomfortable' by McCullough's behavior, which resulted in the now-viral incident

The video message finished with an apology to McCullough's family, which the outraged mother has since rejected.

Responding to a TikTok comment referencing the bar's video statement, McCullough called it 's***.'

'I would love to know why they have yet to contact my family if they're so sorry,' she wrote.

McCullough also referenced a 'dad bod contest' event that the bar promoted earlier this month.

'I also wanna know if said young employee was made uncomfortable by the shirtless dad bod contest they hosted at their establishment before,' McCullough wrote.

She also posted a TikTok video of her breastfeeding, slamming critics and continuing to address the incident.

'If you see this and you think, "Ew, w***e, cover up, that's disgusting," I'm sorry you weren't hugged enough as a kid,' she said.

McCullough added: 'I don't know what to tell you. My fat baby is just eating right now.'

The Daily Mail has reached out to McCullough and Nowhere Bar for further comment.
