Trump's MAGA nemesis Marjorie Taylor Greene joins chorus ...
2026-04-20 · via News | Mail Online

Longtime Trump ally turned nemesis Marjorie Taylor Greene has raised questions about the assassination attempt on President Donald Trump's life during his July 2024 campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The former Georgia Republican Congresswoman, who resigned from office in January, shared a lengthy post on Saturday made by Trisha Hope, a 'J6 Activist,' questioning the shooting and the legitimacy of the famous photo of a bloodied Trump with his fist in the air yelling, 'Fight, fight, fight!'

'Extremely important post worth the read and consideration,' Greene noted of Hope's post.

'Corey Comperatore's family deserves to know the truth about Matthew Crooks and what happened in Butler on July 13, 2024,' she continued.

'President Trump, of all people, should be leading the charge. Why isn't he? That's the question,' Greene concluded in her Saturday X post.

Taylor Greene joined a number of conspiracy theorists who have recently dredged up details about the assassination attempt with new scrutiny.

She followed up her first post by saying: 'I’m not calling the Butler assassination a hoax. But there are a lot of questions that deserve public answers. I’m asking why won’t Trump release the information about Matthew Crooks? Did he actually act alone? If not, who is behind him and who helped him? Why the cover up??'

Corey Comperatore, a firefighter, was seated behind Trump at the Butler rally and was killed by one of the bullets. The bullet whizzed past the then-presidential candidate, clipping his ear, before hitting Comperatore.

Hope, who served as a 2024 Republican National Convention delegate, wrote of the moment she first had doubts about the official story.

'As Trump begin to speak, he started with this: 'So many people have asked me what happened. Tell us what happened, please. And therefore, I will tell you exactly what happened, and you'll never hear it from me a second time, because it's actually too painful to tell,'' Hope wrote.

'As I stood on the convention floor you could have heard a pin drop as he spoke. My first thought was how odd for him to begin this way. He was nearly assassinated just a few days before and yet he was declaring this would be the only time he spoke of it, that was my first red flag,' adding that the moment was 'completely out of character' for Trump,' Hope also noted in the post shared by Greene.

The legitimacy of the appointment on Trump's life has been questioned by right-wing podcasters including Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson, as well as 'Stop the Steal' organizer, Ali Alexander.

The July 13, 2024 attempt on Trump's life came during a rally at the Farm Show Grounds in Butler, where 20-year-old gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks perched atop a building just beyond the perimeter gates.

Crooks was able to fire off a series of bullets aimed at Trump's head - one of which grazed his ear - before officers took him down.

Should Americans trust the official story of the Trump rally shooting, or demand more transparency?

What's your view?

Since the incident, it has become apparent that four counter-sniper teams were in place on the day, two of them being from the Secret Service, and two from local law enforcement.

At the time of the incident, Secret Service blamed local police for failing to secure the rooftop from which Crooks attempted to assassinate then-former President Donald Trump, insisting it was outside the perimeter the federal agency was tasked with protecting.

During the July 2024 rally, securing and patrolling the factory grounds of AGR International Inc. — located about 150 yards from the stage where Trump was speaking on July 13 — was the responsibility of local Pennsylvania police, Secret Service representative Anthony Gugliemi said last year, according to the New York Times.

The Secret Service was only tasked with covering the grounds where Trump's rally took place, with local police being recruited to assist with those efforts and secure the area outside the rally.

Now-former Secret Service director Kimberly Cheatle resigned shortly after the assassination attempt.

Two days after the incident, Cheatle noted in a media release issued by the Secret Service that 'personnel on the ground moved quickly during the incident, with our counter sniper team neutralizing the shooter and our agents implementing protective measures to ensure the safety of [then] former president Donald Trump.'

A U.S. Secret Service report released just days before the 2024 election confirmed that 'multiple operational and communications gaps preceded the July 13 attempted assassination.'
