Fist-pumping Secretary of State Marco Rubio stuns rowdy p...
2026-05-03 · via News | Mail Online

A lively video of Secretary of State Marco Rubio DJing to a boisterous crowd has gone viral on social media.

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino shared the clip Saturday night via X, explaining Rubio was 'in action tonight at a family wedding.'

'MOMENTS AGO, BEHIND THE SCENES,' Scavino wrote. 'Our Great Secretary of State Marco Rubio DJ's weddings too!'

'Let's goooooo!!!' he added.

Rubio has been jokingly referred to as the 'Secretary of Everything' due to all the hats he wears for the Trump administration on top of being the Secretary of State.

Guests were seen jumping up and down as Rubio leaned over a laptop with a set of headphones pressed to his ear.

As the beat dropped, Rubio even pumped his fist, joining the elated crowd.

The Florida Republican's track of choice appeared to be 'Shiver' by John Summit and HAYLA.

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino shared a clip of Secretary of State Marco Rubio behind a DJ booth at a family wedding on Saturday night

Rubio was seen fist pumping as the beat of he song dropped and the rest of the partygoers celebrated

Rubio has been a rising star in the second Trump administration, and has become increasingly viewed as Trump's possible successor in 2028.

In March, a Daily Mail/JL Partners poll found that Rubio has gained ground, rising three points to 17 percent and solidifying his position as the clear second-place contender to Vice President JD Vance.

Rubio has been praised for his role in the Trump administration's operations in Venezuela and across Latin America.

However, Rubio’s DJing was criticized by liberal users online, who accused the Secretary of State of having misplaced priorities.

‘Gang of 8 Rubio dancing as 2 billion is being spent a day on a war no one voted for,’ one user said. ‘Really sickening. What is wrong with you people!’

Another added: ‘I’m glad y’all are having a great time while the masses are suffering!’

Others pointed to the ongoing war with Iran, which has led to rising gas costs in the US and around the world.

‘Glad you're all dancing. I'm paying $5 gas,’ one user wrote. ‘What a bunch of screw ups.’

‘We used to be a serious country,’ another said.

Rubio has been jokingly dubbed the 'Secretary of Everything' online because of his wide range of roles under the Trump administration

However, conservative users defended Rubio and said the Secretary of State was simply having fun.

'Make America Fun Again!' one X user wrote, alongside an American flag emoji. 'Celebrate and live your best life!'

Another added: 'MAGA is still the cool person table.'

They also quipped that Rubio had found yet another role to add to his list of responsibilities.

'Isn't this cool? Sec of State Rubio adds DJ to his resume,' one X user wrote.

'What doesn't Rubio do?' another cracked.

Others said this was a sign that Rubio could step into 'any role' necessary, including President of the United States down the line.

'Watching Marco Rubio DJing at a wedding just made my night,' one user posted. 'To say he's a man of many talents is the ultimate understatement.'

Rubio was not the only member of the Trump administration to make headlines for his music taste over the weekend, as President Trump commented on his own songs of choice.

During remarks to MAGA supporters on Friday at The Villages in Florida, Trump joked that First Lady Melania Trump 'hates' when he dances to the hit Village People track YMCA.

'She hates when I dance to what's sometimes referred to as the gay national anthem,' he told the crowd.

Trump then added, 'We love that song.'

Melania admitted in January during an interview on Fox News that she only liked the song 'at certain times.'

'Some days it's not appropriate, and I told him so,' the First Lady said. 'But it's his dance and I think people love it.'
