Disgusting footage captured the moment a woman appeared to defecate outside a cafe in a ritzy suburb while a man stood next to her ready with tissues.

The woman was filmed committing the gross act next to a recycling bin across the road from Paddington Social, in Brisbane's inner west, at 8am on Sunday.

The man, who appeared to be her partner, looked down at the tissues in his hand while waiting for the woman to finish the deed.

The local who filmed the 'wild act' was left horrified by the sight.

'The couple walked up the driveway of the unit block opposite the cafe, pulled up a wheelie bin to hide, and then [the woman] bent over', he said.

Paddington is a wealthy suburb, with the median house value at $3,650,000 and apartments at $927,500.

The footage was shared on X where social media users called out the couple.

'This is f***ing disgusting,' one said.

The moment a woman defecated outside a Brisbane cafe while her companion stood next to her, preparing to hand over some tissues, has been caught on camera.

'Even a cat knows to simply dig a hole in the garden to do their business,' a second said.

'WTF? Are there no public toilets nearby,' a third said.

Many people found the ordeal hilarious and made light of the situation.

'What a perfect husband,' one said.

'Unconventional love story,' a second added.

A third suggested signs should be raised to remind people not to defecate in public.

One claimed they had a similar experience, explaining that a taxi driver had defecated outside their house.

The act marks the second time in three months a person has been caught defecating in public.

The act was easily visible from the busy road and street

The Paddington Social cafe is in a wealthy part of Brisbane

In February, a woman was filmed emptying her bowels on a busy Melbourne street.

A man, who filmed her crouched behind a pair of bins on the corner of A'Beckett Street and Elizabeth Street, yelled out to her.

'What the f***? What a dirty bi***,' he said.

'What the f*** are you doing? Taking a s***?'

Another man could be seen walking on the sidewalk near the woman and several cars were driving nearby.

Those convicted of publicly defecating in Brisbane can face an on-the-spot fine of between $300 and $400.

More serious offences can be treated as an indecent act which has a maximum penalty of two years' imprisonment.
