A bankrupt woman labelled an 'indefatigable litigant' after launching a string of failed court battles has lost a fresh bid to stay in control of her late father's multi-million-dollar estate.

The Queensland Court of Appeal on Monday dismissed Venetia Storry's challenge to an earlier Supreme Court decision that had stripped her of her role as executor of Anthony Storry's estate and installed an independent administrator, David Clout.

The judges found no error in the ruling, which determined that it was inappropriate for a bankrupt person to continue acting as the estate's personal representative.

Ms Storry has been embroiled in a bitter family fight over her late father's Toowong property – an inner-city home in Brisbane estimated to be worth up to $2.3million.

Anthony John Storry died on August 31, 2018, leaving behind three daughters, Venetia, Amber and Sweden.

This handed Venetia a dominant two-thirds stake in the property, while her sisters were each left with a one-sixth share.

Court documents reveal Venetia has been treating the property as her own, listing it as her address in sworn affidavit material and again as her address for service in the appeal.

The disclosures strongly suggest that she has been living in, or at least continuing to use, the home at the centre of the dispute.

Probate was granted in 2019, with the Toowong property legally transferred into Venetia's name as executor.

But in a legal twist in March 2022, she was declared bankrupt after a sequestration order, meaning her share of the inheritance was vested in a bankruptcy trustee.

'A bankrupt executor who is also a beneficiary will be in a position of conflict,' the court said.

'On the one hand [they are] needing to finalise the estate and, on the other, wishing perhaps to delay realising assets which would then fall under the control of another.'

The court also noted that more than six years after the property was placed in her name as executor, it had still not been transferred to the beneficiaries.

The home was valued at between $1.43million and $2.24million, but it remained unclear who was paying rates and outgoings, or whether it was generating rental income.

Photos taken in 1999 and 2024 show the property has become heavily overgrown, with the house now completely obscured from the street by thick vegetation. 

Ms Storry has repeatedly failed to overturn her bankruptcy, leading to a Federal Court ruling declaring her a vexatious litigant after she pursued a string of unsuccessful legal actions.

She has now been permanently blocked from launching new proceedings in the Federal Court without prior approval after filing repeated unmeritorious claims.

The 2024 ruling followed what the court described as a campaign of litigation, with Ms Storry involved in 24 proceedings over the past seven years, including 19 decisions since 2021.

The 33-page decision shows parties involved in the litigation included police, the Business Licensing Authority and the Office of Fair Trading, and the allegations included judicial bias, errors and abuse of process. 

The judges said the order was necessary to protect Ms Storry from the consequences of her own actions and to protect the court from the expense, burden and inconvenience of baseless and repetitious proceedings.

'Ms Storry has had plenty of days in court, but she is not entitled to another person's day in court to pursue quixotic and misconceived complaints,' they said.

Ms Storry lists herself on LinkedIn as the marketing director of Anthony Storry Real Estate, her late father's business, since 2011.

However, the company is listed as temporarily closed and its landline has been disconnected.
