The glamorous mother who helped drugs baron plot her ex-husband's murder: Attacked as he slept, doused in sulfuric acid and left to die in agony - while their daughter lay in the next room. Read TOM RAWSTORNE'S chilling report

A decade ago, Danny Cahalane spelt out his feelings for the new lady in his life: ‘Four words: Paris Wilson Beautiful Woman.’

Fast forward to 2025 and, thanks to that very same woman, the 38-year-old fitness instructor was about to die a truly ugly death.

Attacked in bed in the early hours of one morning he was doused with sulphuric acid.

The corrosive fluid ate away the skin covering a third of his body, forcing medics to remove an eye and to apply grafts to the left side of his face, his torso, an arm and a leg.

But despite ten agonising weeks in hospital and a dozen surgical procedures, blood clots in both lungs caused by the attack eventually ended his life.

Yesterday Paris Wilson, Cahalane’s ex wife and the mother of his daughter, was convicted of manslaughter for helping to plot his killing.

Two other men involved in the acid attack were found guilty of murder, while Wilson, who was cleared of that charge, was also convicted of attempted kidnap.

As the verdicts were read out in Winchester Crown Court, the 35-year-old blonde broke down in the dock and cried. True to form, the tears were for herself, rather than the man whose life she so callously helped to take.

Paris Wilson presented herself as a devoted mum and hard-working professional, but in reality she was happy to betray her ex-husband for a few thousand pounds and a holiday in Turkey

Danny Cahalane was attacked in bed one morning, doused with sulphuric acid. It ate away at the skin covering a third of his body, and he died ten weeks later

Because while Wilson outwardly presented herself as a devoted mum and hard-working professional, in reality she was happy to betray her ex-husband for a few thousand pounds and a holiday in Turkey.

Eaten up by jealousy and fed up with her feckless former partner, the ‘calculating’ Wilson set about helping an international drugs baron settle a score with him.

Equally shocking was the fact that, while she did not carry out the fatal assault herself, she was prepared to put their daughter’s life at risk – not once, but twice.

The first time, in which two men unsuccessfully tried to kidnap Danny Cahalane, took place minutes after he had dropped off the little girl with Wilson. A month later, when he was attacked with acid, the child was asleep in a bedroom next to her father’s.

And while Wilson would later claim she thought Cahalane might ‘just’ get beaten up, in reality she knew what was coming.

‘I’m worried about my karma, but at least nobody but Dan gets hurt, and he did f*** massively with my life... and he deserves it,’ she told her mother in a string of highly incriminating messages later retrieved by police.

Even more to the point were messages to her ex-husband, including one sent weeks before the ultimately fatal attack.

‘I hope you and [his current girlfriend] both end up with acid on your faces,’ she told him.

Wilson’s betrayal aside, the 18-week case gave an extraordinary insight into the workings of an international drugs gang, and the level of criminality associated with it. For Cahalane was a drug dealer. And at the top of the pyramid was a man known by the nickname ‘Frost’. When Cahalane failed to hand over £120,000 from drugs sold on his behalf, Frost set out to exact his revenge. ‘I’m a millionaire, I ain’t stopping until your [sic] dead,’ Frost told Cahalane in a message read to court. To carry out his wishes he recruited Paris Wilson to help locate his target – and then dispatched a hit squad from London to travel to Devon to take him out.

What became of Fred and Rose West's children?

Hi, I'm Alex Matthews, Editor of The Crime Desk.

It was over 30 years ago that Fred and Rose West's 'house of horrors' was found - but have you ever wondered what happened to their children? Some live in fear, others have happy lives. Sign up here to get our exclusive piece for free.

While a total of six men involved in the plot were yesterday brought to justice, Frost remains on the run. Today the Daily Mail can reveal full details about the 26-year-old, whose real name is Ryan Kennedy.

Raised on a notorious housing estate in south-east London, he rose from being a petty criminal to being accused of leading a gang smuggling multi-million pound shipments of drugs across the world.

Nicknamed Frost because as a youngster he was the only white person in a group of black friends, videos and photos show him revelling in a ‘gangster’ lifestyle. Now thought to be in hiding in Dubai, British police are currently in the process of trying to bring him back to the UK to face charges.

As for Wilson, the woman who once appeared to have it all –looks, a good job and a happy family – she now faces a lengthy prison sentence. Born on October 31,1990 – Wilson and her mother joked that she must be a ‘witch’ because it was Halloween – she was raised in Plymouth.

After completing A Levels, at 20 she fell pregnant with her first child, later completing a political science degree.

In a CV online she claimed to have worked as a probation officer and for the Ministry of Justice (MoJ). But sources have told the Daily Mail no records of her working for the MoJ exist.

Her introduction to the criminal underworld instead came courtesy of Danny Cahalane.

Like Frost, Cahalane had grown up on the Rockingham Estate in London. As a young man he racked up dozens of convictions for theft, burglary, assaults and possession of drugs.

In 2012 he was sentenced to eight years for conspiring to supply cocaine and money laundering, ending up in HMP Dartmoor, Devon.

It was from there in 2015, presumably using a smuggled phone, that he replied to a comment Wilson had left on Facebook. They started talking, with Wilson only realising he was in jail when he suddenly hung up after a prison guard walked past his cell.

Asked what she saw in Cahalane, she said she was attracted by his ‘proper Cockney geezer’ charm, adding: ‘I didn’t see any harm in it because I do think that people deserve a second chance.’

Released soon after, they began dating and set up a Crossfit gym together in Plymouth.

Wilson then fell pregnant with her second child, Cahalane already having two of his own. They married in 2020.

But while they played happy families, Cahalane continued to deal drugs. At some stage he had started working for Frost, who would refer to him as ‘Muscles’ due to his size and build. In 2022 Cahalane was given a suspended sentence after cocaine and cash were found at their gym.

He only avoided jail after Wilson gave the court a reference saying that she ‘wouldn’t be able to cope’ with childcare without him.

Not long after his court appearance they split and Wilson moved to a flat in Oreston, Plymouth.

While she got a job working in the offshore renewable energy industry and then as a ship broker, Cahalane continued to sell drugs supplied by Frost.

The court heard how Frost is accused of heading an organised crime gang and details of their dealings were outlined to police by his victim as he fought for his life in hospital.

‘He [Danny Cahalane] told the police, for instance, that in about 2023, Frost had sent him messages saying he was worth £3 million and that Frost would send photos of cocaine and money,’ prosecutor Joanna Martin KC told the jury. In other messages Frost spoke about having 320kg of cannabis in a shipping container – worth £3.2 million if sold in single gram deals.

‘Danny told police that he knew Frost moved between Dubai and Spain and Thailand,’ said Ms Martin. ‘He would be supplied drugs by Frost for supply onwards down the line to the ultimate user.’ The pair fell out after Frost became ‘incensed’ when Cahalane failed to repay £120,000 he owed. He claimed this was due to one of his junior drug dealers running off without paying him, as well as money lost through gambling. Frost needed the money to pay his own suppliers and also felt Cahalane had shown him a lack of respect.

As prosecutor Ms Martin told the court: ‘Let’s be frank, no drugs gang leader can continue as leader if they don’t enforce a debt, certainly not a significant debt.’

Frost’s increasing anger towards Cahalane was evident in a string of messages sent in the run up to the attack.

‘Your [sic] gonna die....U jus need to die.... You done me £80K...they coming up now... I’m gonna give them extra 40k to come and take your eyes out you’r [sic] head,’ read one.

Another stated: ‘I’ll start throwing money left right and centre – think you can f*** up my relationships. Everything you say, never solid, I promise to God this aint a threat, it’s a fact.’

But to get to Cahalane, Frost needed to locate him. Which was where Paris Wilson came in. He contacted her on Snapchat and asked for her help. In her defence she claimed the drug dealer immediately put pressure on her, telling her Cahalane’s debt was ‘everyone’s debt’. Asked what Frost meant by this, Wilson said: ‘I think it was like, this is everybody’s problem now.’

Ryan Kennedy, nicknamed Frost, is a drug dealer who set out to exact his revenge on Calahane after he failed to hand over £120,000 made from drugs sold on Frost's behalf

But the prosecution said messages she sent, including to Frost and her mother, Karen Wilson, painted a picture of someone willingly helping.

In a message to her mum she wrote: ‘He [Frost] said he will pay me a few grand and double what Dan owes you and give you an oz [an ounce of drugs]. So 600 and a oz. Lol. That’s Turkey paid for all of us.’

She also outlined how Frost had suggested that, given the nature of her work, she could help with his drug smuggling operation. ‘Frost has told me he could make me millions if I can [get] a harbour master to ignore a container coming in,’ she said. Wilson said the problem was that she did not deal with container ships, adding: ‘I’m gutted, lol.’

She said: ‘I did say we have a dry bulk [shipping carrying raw commodities] that comes to Victoria wharf once a month... but he said when it’s not a container it’s risky... If it’s on a dry bulk the crew would need to know.’

As prosecutor Ms Martin told the jury: ‘Paris Wilson is clear that she wants money. In her messages with Danny, she is angry that he has a new house, angry that his girlfriend has branded handbags, and she is happy to suggest to Frost that she will be able to help him with illegal importations.

‘She used, in her messages, the lingo of the drug dealer... she clearly wanted to be involved with Frost’s world.’

An initial, failed, bid to kidnap Danny Cahalane took place on January 19 2025. Knowing her ex-husband was due to drop off their daughter at her house, Wilson shared the information with Frost. As Cahalane went to leave, three men attempted to rip his car door open, but he managed to drive off. Eight minutes later Frost sent a message to him from Dubai, saying: ‘Close call? Mate I’m telling you... your [sic] gonna die.’

But still Cahalane did not repay his debt.

More messages were exchanged between the pair until February 10, when the desperate drug dealer begged for more time and promised to come good with the money. Ominously, Frost replied with two words: ‘Keep it.’

Less than a fortnight later Cahalane was asleep in bed in his boxer shorts when two men broke into his house, armed with knives and a screwdriver. He fought them off but was stabbed and doused with a liquid, later identified as sulphuric acid. With steam coming from his body, he rushed into the street screaming: ‘It’s burning, it’s burning.’

Wilson was called to the scene by police to comfort her daughter. She later messaged her mother, saying: ‘Mum, it was horrific. I can’t stop being sick.’

Despite being treated in hospital for the next ten weeks, Danny Cahalane died on May 3, 2025.

In her defence, Wilson claimed discussions about importing drugs were just an attempt to divert Frost from the topic of her ex’s debt. She insisted she would never put her child at risk and thought all that would happen was a fight.

Wilson, who along with her co-defendants will be sentenced at a later date, also told the jury that her daughter ‘still asks’ about her dad.

With him dead, and her mother facing years behind bars, there will be no shortage of questions for her to ask in the future.
