Tributes have poured in for a 'kind soul' and 'amazing' father-of-three who was stabbed to death in a street in Manchester.

Adrian Brown, named locally as Dre, was stabbed on Raby Street, Moss Side, in  Manchester on Friday evening. He sadly died later from his injuries after being taken to hospital.

An 18-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody as the police probe continues.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said the force is 'exhausting all lines of enquiry to establish the full circumstances and those involved'.

Detectives described the incident as a 'targeted' attack as well as a 'shocking act of violence'.

Tributes have since flooded in for the musician, who is believed to be in his 30s and went by the stage name StanaMan on social media.

'RIP, Dre. You will be sadly missed. Gone far too soon. You were such a kind soul and amazing father,' one friend wrote.

Describing him as a 'good kid', another friend penned: 'Rest in peace, Dre', while others also expressed their condolences.

Meanwhile, locals have been left shocked by the incident as they fear the area could once again descend into violence, a state it was in during the early noughties.

'I was quite surprised. I'm shocked, the area feels relatively safe, but I wouldn't walk down that area at night,' Hugh told the Manchester Evening News.

Meanwhile, 55-year-old Ruth said: 'There has been a lot of improvement in the area and a lot of youth empowerment places, and then you see this, and it sets you back.

'It was common maybe 10 to 15 years back. You worry now when this happens, it's so sad.'

A police scene remained in place on Raby Street, close to Westwood Street, on Saturday afternoon, with a forensic tent erected inside the cordon.

Forensics specialists were also spotted combing the scene for evidence as their probe continues.

Detective Superintendent Toby Facey, of Greater Manchester Police, said: 'This was a shocking act of violence, and our thoughts remain with the victim and his family at this incredibly difficult time. They continue to be supported by our specialist officers.

'I would like to reassure the community that we believe this was a targeted attack and poses no wider risk to the public.

'We understand this is a deeply concerning incident, and we will have extra patrols in the area.

'I encourage anyone with concerns or queries to please speak with our teams.

'Scenes remain in place, and our officers will work throughout the day to conduct their investigation.'

Anyone with information, CCTV, dashcam or mobile footage from the area is urged to contact the force by calling 101, or by using their LiveChat service quoting log 4069 of 08/05/26.

Alternatively, anyone wishing to make contact anonymously can call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
