Construction management academic and CIOB Fellow, Professor Peter Farrell, has been awarded an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours for services to higher education and the construction industry.

Farrell has spent much of his career focused on construction project management, management science, sustainable building design and building information modelling (BIM), helping to bridge the gap between academic research and industry practice. 

His work has explored how project management can improve construction outcomes, while more recent research has examined the role of sustainability in project delivery and the integration of digital technologies within the built environment. 

The honour recognises Farrell’s contribution to both construction education and the wider industry. According to the official honours list, he received the award “for services to Higher Education and to the Construction Industry”.
