The Navy has appointed Van Hendrey to lead its Portfolio Acquisition Executive office for Munitions, the service announced today in a social media post.

The Navy established PAE Munitions last month as part of its Pentagon-wide acquisition restructure, and appointed Paul Mann to serve as its interim head. Mann is the chief technical officer for the Golden Dome Strategic Alliance at AE Industrial Partners.

Hendrey, who will now fill the role in a more permanent capacity, has been serving as the director of the digital warfare office within the chief of naval operations’ office since August 2025, according to her LinkedIn profile.

“A distinguished warfighting acquisition executive, Ms. Hendrey is charged with aligning the industrial base to accelerate production and equip the fleet with critical munitions," according to today’s announcement.

Hendrey now assumes broad authority to lead procurement and fielding efforts at a time when the Pentagon’s munitions stocks have been worn thin by its war on Iran and other recent engagements.
