The Navy will hold a two-day event in August focused on in-water experiments with an emphasis on multi-domain autonomous systems, defensive autonomous capabilities, maritime domain awareness and modeling and simulation, according to a Tuesday notice.
BlueTIDE -- an annual technology demonstration event -- is hosted by Polaris Tech Bridge, the U.S. Navy and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Newport, Rhode Island. Mission-driven experimentation will take place at the Navy’s Narragansett Bay Test Facility in Rhode Island on Aug. 26, while live demonstrations of technology will occur on Aug. 27, the notice states.
Companies selected will have the chance to participate in a collaborative integration scenario, attract potential customers, connect with Defense Department officials, industry leaders and investors, and collect valuable data for technological development.
“Selected in-water demonstration participants may be eligible for funding support,” the notice adds.
Companies are encouraged to apply for the event by May 28.
