The Navy is seeking information on sources capable of delivering the Future Attack Strike (FASt) capability -- which aims to boost long-range fires and support the ground force -- according to a notice posted this week.
Naval Air Systems Command plans to conduct market research on behalf of the Marine Corps, and is seeking sources who can supply analysis results, concepts of operation, past uses of advanced mission analysis tools and collaborative partners who can identify capability gaps and complete work no later than the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2027.
Vendors should be prepared to engage in a consortium to collaborate as part of a vendor and government team, the notice states. Small businesses, major primes and non-traditional vendors are invited to supply solutions.
The new strike capability -- outlined in the Marine Corps 2026 Aviation Plan -- is intended to secure maritime terrain, defend amphibious ready groups and provide persistent attack and fires in a high-threat environment.
“I would say we're exploring every option when it comes to the FASt program, and M-75 or the like certainly could be one of the options that we look at,” Brig. Gen. Robert Finneran, assistant deputy commandant for aviation, said at Modern Day Marine in May, referring to the next-generation tiltrotor aircraft. “We're just solidifying our top-level requirements and finalizing the request for information back from industry.”
Final responses are due no later than July 23, according to the notice.
