Naval Sea Systems Command will hold an industry day focusing on a strategy to establish long-term partnerships for ship maintenance availabilities for Arleigh Burke-class destroyers, according to a Wednesday notice.

Multi-Ship Sustainment Partnership indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contracts will allow for more repair learnings, platform expertise and will support the “high-tempo operational needs” of DDG-51s, the notice states. The Navy aims to award several single-award contracts to a group of industry members to provide emergent and continuous maintenance.

“The MSSP SA IDIQ contracts are envisioned to reduce contracting timelines and result in increased communication across the ships being serviced,” the notice states.

The virtual May 28 industry day will allow the Navy to provide details on its acquisition strategy and obtain feedback from industry members before a final request for proposal is issued.
