The Defense Department has spent $25 billion on the U.S. military conflict in Iran, according to acting Pentagon Comptroller Jay Hurst.
Hurst, in a committee hearing today, provided the figure to House Armed Services Committee Ranking Member Adam Smith (D-WA), who said he was surprised to actually get the cost from a senior DOD official after seeking the information for "a hell of a long time."
Hurst's estimate, which he said includes munitions, follows a $200 billion supplemental request DOD previously sent to the White House Office of Management and Budget.
