The Air Force secretary would need to create a roadmap for integrating electronic warfare in air and space operations, should a provision in the Senate version of the fiscal year 2027 defense policy bill be enacted.
The roadmap would need to look at integration efforts that are already in effect, under development or need future material acquisition, according to the bill text released today. It would also address “synergistic cooperation” areas, including warform transport, targeting and battle damage assessment.
Such a report would be required at least every other year under the proposal.
The secretary, in coordination with the Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations Executive Committee, would also be required to brief congressional defense committees on the same timeframe.
