In an April 27, 2026 memo, the Defense Department inspector general's office announces it will "assess the effectiveness with which the [DOD] trained operators to use the Joint Fires Network to perform targeting and fire control across all Military Departments within the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command area of responsibility."
