It’s not like we didn’t before, but we’ve got a series now. After stealing home court advantage in San Antonio the New York Knicks failed to put a stranglehold on the Larry O’Brien Trophy. There are several reasons for this but it boils down to the Spurs not choking away their third game in a row. This series could easily be 3-0 or 2-1 either way.
The Spurs righted their ship in game three. Fewer turnovers, Wemby was dominant at times and were smart down the stretch - and pretty physical. It also helped that Jalen Brunson, despite scoring 32 points, didn’t take over the final five minutes. Credit San Antonio all the way around.
So what happens tonight? The Knicks must protect home court. Everyone not named Brunson or Towns must play big. Shots need to fall. Victor Wembanyama cannot be allowed to dictate the game. Coach Mike Brown must have his team ready. San Antonio looks to have figured it out. If they have, the Knicks are in trouble.

The Knicks are already three point heavy. Look for them to throw up a bunch early and play with a lead early, something they haven’t done much of in this series. Individually the usual suspects will put up their numbers. The supporting casts put the number over the top.

Castle made big plays late in game three after being very quiet. I see a focused player here, dishing out assists and getting key baskets late. Wembanyama is on a mission since the turnover late in game two. He could be very scary tonight. Towns has been steady this far. The Knicks need a little more from him. I love this bet.
He needs to absolutely fill it up. The worry here is twofold. If he’s scoring, is anyone else? Also he seems to be playing for finals MVP instead of an NBA Championsip. Not the case of course but he was forcing it late in game three. The Spurs defensive game plan didn’t change they just were more efficient Monday night. It’s up to Brunson to adjust, play with a chip on his shoulder and carry his team.

I said previously it’s Josh Hart’s time to shine. He’s played well but the impact has been minimal. OG, you’re up. He’s a good shooter. Brinson must play him open and get him some shots. If the threes fall, the Knicks have a great chance.
I mean there has to be right? All three games had overtime potential. No reason to believe it isn’t a possibility. Good value bet for the rest of the series.

Crazy to think this is do or die for the Knicks leading the series. It just feels like the momentum hit a brick wall Monday night. If they lose tonight they’re done.
Hell of a Stanley Cup final isn’t it? Game 5 will be exciting. Still riding with Las Vegas though I feel the momentum shift. Knights in seven.
