A presentation for the ATX Indie TV and Pilot Competition

ATX TV Fest, 2025

The ATX TV Festival has announced the Top 10 Finalists and new Mentors for its annual Pitch Competition & Mentorship Program.

The festival is an annual event that takes place in Austin, TX and consists of screenings followed by Q&As, panel conversations, and events (parties, live music, happy hours, hosted receptions, etc) and is known for reunions of classic series and cult hits. Screenings include never-aired pilots, canceled-too-soon series, current favorites, and world premieres. This year’s festival takes place May 28th-31st.

The Live Pitch Competition gives ten finalists the opportunity to pitch their original series in front of a panel of established showrunners, producers, and/or industry executives. Finalists are selected through a competitive screening process that evaluates each applicant’s 90-second video pitch and writing sample.

After next month’s ATX TV Festival, the top 10 finalists enter a year-long Pitch & Mentorship Program, which includes monthly virtual roundtables with Industry Leaders (showrunners, executives, managers, and agents) for career advice and insight, guidance on how to prepare for meetings with executives, producers, agents, and managers, and a look inside the inner workings of a writers’ room.

One grand prize winner will receive a script read and general meeting with at least three ATX TV Pitch Judges or ATX TV Panelists for feedback, pitch mentorship with a showrunner or executive, and three general pitch meetings.

One runner-up will receive two general meetings with ATX TV Pitch Judges or ATX TV Panelists for feedback.

Here is the list of this year’s top 10 finalists:

  • Friendliest, Drew Lausch & Jenny Leon (half-hour dark comedy)
  • Divine Intervention, Zina Ellis (half-hour comedy)
  • Generations, Darryl Mansel (hour-long science fiction)
  • GFF: Ghost Friends Forever, Tyler Stuart (half-hour comedy)
  • Habibi, Saleh Karaman (hour-long dramedy)

  • The Townhomes, Ivan Rome (half-hour comedy)
  • Thumpers, Dawn Kalani Cowle (hour-long drama)
  • Wonder Child, Jessica Tolliver (half-hour comedy)

“The Pitch Competition & Mentorship Program remains a cornerstone of ATX TV’s commitment to discovering and supporting new voices,” said Emily Gipson, Co-Founder and Co-President of ATX TV Festival, in a statement announcing the finalists. “We’re excited to work with this year’s finalists as they develop their projects and take the next steps in their careers.
