Superyacht specialist builder Lürssen has announced the delivery of its 384-foot megayacht named ‘Boardwalk’.
While Lürssen hasn’t announced who the owner is, it’s widely and reputably reported to be Tilman Fertitta, the US Ambassador to Italy and Texan businessman responsible for the Kemah Boardwalk in Galveston. A serial yacht owner and the owner of the entertainment company Landry’s and owner of the Houston Rockets, he has been linked to multiple yachts named ‘Boardwalk’ throughout his life.
And while Tilman Fertitta’s name hasn’t officially been named by the builder as the owner (as is customary with superyachts), through access to leading yachting database SuperYacht iQ (which is a private database that collates all the specific information for every yacht in the world, including things like flag states and ownership information), we can confirm that Fertitta is the owner.

This is Mr Fertitta's sixth superyacht.

His latest yacht, though, is the largest and most spectacular so far.
Luxury amenities include a cinema, spa, gym, golfing green and dual helipads. There are 11 staterooms total, including an enviable forward (front-facing) VIP with an onyx-finished en suite bathroom and a private outdoor lounge that looks over the bow. Additional suites feature direct access to the yacht’s side decks through glass doors, effectively creating private terraces for every guest that sleeps on board.
The owner was reportedly "personally" involved in many aspects of the design, something that’s not always common on yachts of this size (the size in gross tonnes, by the way, is 5,602, which is goliath).
Another notable feature is the main deck aft, where a flush-set swimming pool and Jacuzzi are integrated into the sustainable deck, while fully retractable glass doors open the main salon to the exterior to create a semi-enclosed winter garden.
A putting green is found on board.

A significant technical advancement appears in the form of a retractable deck section positioned over the stairwell connecting the main deck to the beach club. Once sealed, the structure is airtight and regulation-approved, marking the first time Lürssen has implemented a sliding structural plate of this kind. The system allows concealed access to lower decks while preserving clear, uncluttered deck space.
Many of Boardwalk’s innovations are similarly discreet. The yacht incorporates approximately 3,000 exterior lighting points – significantly above conventional standards for a vessel of this size – while internal corridors were designed at maximum width, requiring extraordinary technical precision to compress piping, cabling, and systems infrastructure into the voids between decks and walls.
She carries an amphibious tender, off-road 4x4s, and numerous other land-based vehicles.

Further distinguishing features include a glass-walled engine room ‘catwalk’ that lets you walk through and look into the beating heart of the boat. Plus, there’s a substantial tender garage housing three custom 40-foot Hodgdon tenders, an amphibious craft, off-road vehicles, and additional cars and bikes.
Materials are both practical and high-luxury, with high-gloss burled mahogany, polished stainless steel, and complex double-convex detailing creating an upscale, but still laid-back and family-friendly ambience on board.
Tesumo, a special type of sustainable deck, has been used on the vessel.

According SuperYacht iQ, Mr Fertitta has owned at least five yachts over 80-foot named ‘Boardwalk’. The early editions were built in the U.S.A. by builders like Westport and Westship. In 2021 he graduated to a 250-foot yacht by Feadship, a Dutch builder arguably the most prestigious in the world (and that yacht is currently on the market for around $174.5 million).
But he has chosen to go to Lürssen for this latest build, a shipyard which has the most experience with true ‘gigayachts’ over 100 meters (this one measures 117 meters).
One of Mr Fertitta's first jobs was peeling shrimp in his family restaurant.

Another interesting point to note is the design, which is by Frank Woll (with interiors by the late Amy Halffman, Suzanne Glover, and Teresa Francis), is very reminiscent of those early North American builds, with classic, straight lines, a long fashion plate (the line at the back connecting the decks) and lots of mullions in between the windows.
According to Lürssen, she is “a true ship wearing the guise of a yacht”. Watch this space for a closer look at the inside of the yacht.
