COLLEGE FOOTBALL: SEP 21 Charlotte at Indiana

After talking about the top three 2026 rookies to trade for in dynasty fantasy football, we’ll be narrowing the list down to one position. Running backs.

Now, if you weren’t able to read that article, we already mentioned one running back who is still a good player to trade for.

Kaytron Allen has gone up slightly since then, but with a rank of RB59 per Keep Trade Cut, he’s still a strong value. That said, today we’ll be talking about three more running backs, one who’s ranked outside of the top 40 and two of which are ranked outside the top 100.

1. Nicholas Singleton (KTC Rank: RB41)

Starting with the highest ranked player on this list, we have Nicholas Singleton. Despite being a bigger fan of his college teammate, Allen, Singleton is intriguing.

In college, Allen was better between the tackles, but Singleton is extremely explosive. That elite athleticism gives him a ton of fantasy upside, as he’s also shown he can catch the ball as well (41 catches in 2024).

MORE FOR YOU

With Singleton, he hasn’t been able to fully put it together yet and was very inconsistent in college. Singleton had two years with over 1,000 rushing yards with at least 6.4 YPC but two with under 800 where he didn’t cross 4.6 YPC either year.

What makes matters worse is that 2025 was a down year, where Singleton had just 549 rushing yards, 4.5 YPC, and 24 catches in 12 games, although he did have 13 touchdowns.

Singleton also didn’t get great NFL draft capital, going in round five (165th overall) to the Tennessee Titans. Looking at the Titans depth chart, Tony Pollard is the RB1, but he’s 29 years old, and Tyjae Spears becomes a free agent in 2027.

It wouldn’t shock me at all if Singleton shows flashes as a rookie and is set to take on a significant role in 2027. With how low Singleton is ranked, the upside outweighs the risk.

2. Kaelon Black (KTC Rank: RB110)

Most dynasty fans, including myself, didn’t talk about Kaelon Black heading into the 2026 NFL draft. That said, Black was drafted much higher than Singleton, yet he’s ranked extremely low.

Black was drafted in round three, 90th overall. Draft capital shows how much a team believes in a player, which then should translate into opportunity.

Christian McCaffrey is the clear RB1 for 2026, but he’s now 29 years old and becomes a free agent in 2028. I’m expecting Black to have more of a role over time, with the potential to take over as the RB1 once McCaffrey is gone.

3. Adam Randall (KTC Rank: RB132)

Adam Randall is a great dart throw for PPR leagues due to his receiving upside. Randall has such a unique background because he was listed as a wide receiver for the first three years of his college career at Clemson.

Randall would then become a running back for his senior season, with some impressive results. On the ground, Randall had 814 rushing yards, 4.8 YPC, and 10 touchdowns.

More importantly, Randall caught 36 passes for 254 yards and three touchdowns.

With Randall being new to the position, there’s reason to expect growth as a runner as he enters the NFL. Randall was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens, where they have a clear RB1, but the RB2 spot isn’t elite.

Justice Hill looks to hold that spot, but he’s 28 years old and a free agent in 2027. Then of course you have Derrick Henry at 32 years old as the RB1.

Now to be fair, the draft capital for Randall wasn’t great, getting selected in round five (174th overall). However, due to his pass catching ability, it wouldn’t shock me if he takes over that role from Hill in 2027.

Not only that, but if Randall continues to develop and the Ravens don’t have a running back as dominant as Henry at that point, he could get significant touches as a runner.

Randall is far from a sure thing, but as the RB132, he’s absolutely worth trading for in dynasty fantasy football as a dart throw.
