WWE Backlash 2026 was a long time coming for Bron Breakker and Seth Rollins.

In October 2025, Rollins suffered a torn rotator cuff at Crown Jewel, was forced to relinquish the World Heavyweight Championship and was kicked out of The Vision. Rollins’ replacement as the group’s unofficial leader was Breakker, who also suffered a major injury and was sidelined in February, causing him to miss most of WrestleMania season.

So, when a returning Rollins faced Gunther at WrestleMania 42, Breakker returned as well, costing his nemesis the match against “The Ring General,” and now, here we are. Rollins finally got his hands on Breakker at WWE Backlash 2026 after a rollercoaster ride to get there.

WWE Backlash 2026 Results For Seth Rollins Vs. Bron Breakker

Breakker, the new face of the Vision, can now add one major accomplishment to his resume: beating the original leader of the faction.

At WWE Backlash in Tampa, Breakker defeated his former leader Seth Rollin after an interference-filled match that had the Tampa crowd on its feet. The finish came when Rollins nearly secured a victory but met his end after a pair of rib-splitting spears. Not only did that win mark the biggest singles victory in Breakker’s young career, but it also stands out as another key loss for Rollins.

MORE FOR YOU

Here are the key moments and top highlights from Breakker’s victory over Rollins at WWE Backlash 2026:

  • Early on, the might immediately spilled to the outside. The referee gave both star a lot of leeway as the two stars even spilled over into the crowd. Rollins hit a flying attack over the barricade to take down Breakker. Eventually, the action returned to the ring, and Breakker began to slow down the pace, applying a chinlock.
  • Breakker was able to fend off Rollins’ comeback with a lightning quick clothesline followed by a pair of release German suplexes. Rollins fought off a superplex attempt on the top rope, but Breakker responded with an incredible top rope frankensteiner. The crowd erupted in “Let’s go, Rollins!” chants.
  • On the outside, Breakker went for a spear, but Rollins countered with a superkick to level the playing field temporarily. Both stars barely made it into the ring before the 10-count. Rollins nailed a plethora of clotheslines of his own and blasted Breakker with a running knee to the face for a close two-count.
  • Rollins repeatedly stomped Breakker in the face and lined up for The Stomp, but Breakker countered, grabbed Rollins’ foot and hit a military press into a gutbuster. Breakker went for the spear, but Rollins intercepted. Rollins botched a counter attempt, but Breakker covered it up with a standing moonsault for two.
  • Rollins countered Breakker’s punches in the corner with a buckle bomb, and then, Breakker ricocheted into a vicious clothesline to take both men down. “This is awesome!” chants from the crowd. On the outside, Breakker leaped off the ring apron and crashed into Rollins with a flying clothesline over the announce table.
  • Back in the ring, Breakker climbed to the top rope, but Rollins reversed it into a superplex and then Breakker countered with a modified Falcon Arrow. The crowd went crazy for this sequence and rightfully so. Breakker attempted another top rope frankensteiner and nailed it once again.
  • Breakker hit another frankensteiner, but this time, Rollins somehow landed on his feet as Breakker looked shot. Rollins hit a pair of kicks and then a Pedigree. Rollins lined up Breakker and destroyed him with The Stomp, but Paul Heyman jumped up on the ring apron to prevent him from getting the pin.
  • Rollins had enough and decided to grab a chair from under the ring. Austin Theory and Logan Paul attempted to attack Rollins, who hit them with the chair. The distraction allowed Breakker to hit Rollins with a nasty spear when Rollins reentered the ring. Rollins shockingly kicked out just before three as the crowd erupted again.
  • Breakker hit the rope a few times and went for the spear on Rollins, who hit a beautiful counter into a Pedigree. Rollins went up top and went for an Avalance Stomp, but Breakker nearly split him in half with a massive spear. Breakker then was able to hit Rollins with what announcer Michael Cole called a torpedo spear to get the 1-2-3 and the win.

WWE Backlash 2026 Results: What’s Next For Seth Rollins And Bron Breakker?

WWE found itself between a rock and a hard place at Backlash 2026. Rollins needed a win after his WrestleMania loss to Gunther, and yet, so did the returning Breakker.

As it turns out, however, WWE went with the most logical outcome of Breakker win via underhanded tactics after Heyman, Theory and Paul interfered and helped Breakker beat his arch-nemesis. That was the easy out in what was a difficult booking scenario, but it also just so happened to be the most logical way to book the first match of what should be an extended feud. Because, rest assured, this rivalry isn’t done, not by a long shot.

It came as quite the shocker when WWE stuck with Rollins vs. Gunther at WrestleMania 42 despite Breakker reportedly being cleared to wrestle. But WWE was able to effectively utilize the Gunther vs. Rollins match to add heat to the lengthy rivalry between Breakker and Rollins.

Their feud has been bizarrely booked through no fault of their own. Rollins was off TV for months, and so was Breakker, which forced WWE to build this rivalry via Gunther, Paul Heyman and The Vision. Now, however, both Breakker and Rollins are healthy, and WWE has all the necessary ingredients to cook up something great.

Breakker won the first battle at WWE Backlash, but after just one match, this feud is far from over. In the end, this rivalry should be a defining one for Breakker, who’s still relatively new to the main roster. Yet, pro wrestling booking 101 suggests WWE fans can expect a trifecta of matches, with the babyface (in this case Rollins) ultimately winning in the end.

While Breakker is standing tall after WWE Backlash, a rematch should be coming soon, and in all likelihood, the rematch won’t be the end of it either.
