This Boston Hotel Just Unveiled A New Presidential Suite—And A New French Riviera Hot Spot Is Next

There are new reasons to stay here this summer.

Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston

When the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston opened in 2019, it made quite the splash. At a commanding 61 stories, it is one of Boston’s tallest buildings, with amazing views of Back Bay and beyond, a restaurant with an innovative take on an izakaya (a Japanese pub) and exceptional service.

Rather than resting on its laurels, Boston’s second Four Seasons property continues to evolve with a series of new offerings — and even more is in the works. For a sophisticated summertime retreat, book an expansive suite with floor-to-ceiling windows, make reservations at Zuma for the chef-driven omakase menu and spend some time on The Wellness Floor.

Staying in the Newest Suite

The Boston hotel’s new Presidential Suite, designed by renowned London design house Commune Well, offers a more residential ambiance, albeit an upscale one. Inside the 2,000-square-foot space on the 21st floor, there’s a full Molteni kitchen and bar, with a professional range, full-size refrigerator, full bar and high-end espresso machine.

Next to the primary bedroom is an expansive dressing room, with open shelving, glass-covered compartments and dramatic lighting befitting a shop. There’s also a wellness space, outfitted with Tonal fitness technology, so you can work out in privacy.

A final highlight is the stunning Zuber & Cie hand-blocked mural in the dining room, depicting events in American history, such as George Washington riding victoriously into Boston.

Taking a Timeout

The Wellness Floor, which encompasses the building’s entire seventh floor, is home to a luxurious spa, a 64-foot heated indoor lap pool and a 2,100-square-foot fitness center. Treatments like massages and facials fill the spa menu, but for a special indulgence, book one of the Five-Star spa’s rituals.

For example, the Sleep Ritual is an 80-minute service using Ground Wellbeing products to tackle symptoms from exhaustion or burnout. It includes breathing exercises, aromatherapy and a massage. And to banish any remaining stress, you will enjoy a glass of prosecco afterward while looking out over the city.

Take in art like “They Say, On A Really Hot Day” at the hotel.

Enjoying a Different View

It’s easy to overlook the art in a hotel, but it would be a shame to do so here. The site-specific artworks commissioned for Four Seasons One Dalton Street are worth seeking out. There’s no missing the large mosaic behind the reception desk, titled They Say, On A Really Hot Day, by Boston-born-and-raised Duke Riley. The piece, consisting of metallic, brown-toned waves, pays homage to the North End’s tragic 1919 Great Molasses Flood disaster, when a 50-foot-tall tank broke, unleashing thick, sticky molasses that knocked a train off its tracks and smothered buildings.

More art can be found in the rotunda, elevators, the lobby bar, the pool and in guest rooms, among other spaces. Look for the art booklet in your room for information on the works, or ask the concierge for a private guided tour of the collection.

Zuma is a must-visit.

Looking Ahead

While Zuma is a highlight at the luxury hotel, and will definitely remain so, another powerhouse restaurant is on the horizon for One Dalton. This summer, the internationally acclaimed French Riviera-inspired LPM Restaurant & Bar will make its first foray into the Northeast. The restaurant first debuted in London in 2007 and has since expanded to 10 cities, including Dubai, Miami and Hong Kong.

Boston’s LPM will be on the property’s second floor and feature the brand’s bespoke Belle Époque-inspired design elements as well as a menu with Mediterranean ingredients, such as artichokes, lemons, olives, tomatoes, peppers, fresh seafood and pasta.
