If you really want attention on the road, go with a 2026 Chevrolet Corvette in Roswell Green. Heads swivel, photos are snapped, and eyes gaze longingly. Of course, the Corvette has never been shy, but I found in this neon hue it leans fully into spectacle.

Completely redesigned for model year 2020, the C8 mid-engine Corvette continues to evolve and improve. The 2026 (including the Stingray, E-Ray, Z06, and ZR1) gets an interior refresh, including a new three-screen layout and updated console design that integrates a larger 12.7-inch center display. The diagonal driver information center was upsized to 14 inches, and there is an all-new 6.6-inch touchscreen display to the left of the steering wheel.

The cabin choices include a Chevrolet first with an asymmetrical interior color scheme available in Jet Black and Adrenaline Red. Roswell Green Metallic isn’t the only new finish option for the 2026. Blade Silver Metallic is also fresh, as is a new asymmetrical exterior center stripe is available in Edge Red/Carbon Flash.

The Corvette’s design hasn’t changed dramatically for 2026, but it doesn’t need to. The low, angular nose and sculpted side intakes evoke an entire history of Corvettes in a familiar, yet modern way. It’s joy on wheels.

Big Heritage And Even Bigger Power Options

The Stingray 2LT I’m driving packs a 6.2-liter V8 producing up to 490 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Edmunds found the Corvette coupe optioned with the Z51 performance package could zip from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. Chevy says the ZR1 reaches 60 mph in 2.3 seconds.

Wait, though: there’s more. Sure, the 1,064-horsepower ZR1 is powerful beyond the dreams of most mortals. But have you heard about the new-for-2026 Corvette ZR1X? While it shares the same twin-turbo engine as the ZR1 that powers the rear, it borrows the E-Ray’s electric motor to power the front. In total, the system generates an impressive 1,250 hp. Chevrolet says the ZR1X can zip from zero to 60 mph in under 2 seconds, which is roughly equal to the 1,234-hp Lucid Air Sapphire EV. The fact that a Corvette ZRX1 can achieve similar quickness as a similarly-priced high-end EV is noteworthy.

For every Corvette, the power delivery is immediate, visceral, and accompanied by a soundtrack that reminds you why this model has withstood the test of time. Of course, it gets more and more urgent and sonorous with each upgrade.

What Makes The Corvette Special

Yet what makes the Corvette special isn’t just raw speed—it’s the fact that it can be thoroughly enjoyed as a daily driver. The ride adapts seamlessly from daily commuting to spirited runs on twisty, gun roads. Visibility is improved over earlier mid-engine efforts, cargo space is split between front and rear trunks.

At 19 mpg, the fuel economy for the Corvette is not stellar. But let’s be honest; most drivers won’t care. And to be fair, it’s respectable in the sport coupe segment.

Of course, the classic Chevrolet sports car is fast and thrilling—but it’s also surprisingly practical, comfortable, and attainable within its class. In Roswell Green, that message is amplified exponentially. It’s not just a color choice; it’s a statement. One that says the Corvette isn’t interested in blending in.
