Harmon was the last performer to play Lord on the legendary soap opera, following Catherine Burns (1969), Amy Levitt (1969 to 1971), Julie Alice Brandon (1971 to 1972) and Dorrie Kavanagh (1972 to 1976). Harmon was also the first of the five performers playing the role to earn a Daytime Emmy Award nomination — for Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama Series — in 1978.

The nomination also marked the first time any actress was nominated in the category for the daytime drama.

Born Dec. 3, 1943, in Pasadena, Calif., Harmon’s made her professional acting debut came on Broadway in 1965 production of Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman’s classic play You Can’t Take It With You. Harmon appeared in 21 Broadway productions overall, according to Deadline.
