Filming has begun on writer-director Mike White’s The White Lotus Season 4 as HBO reveals that the story will be set during the Cannes Film Festival.
The home of the critically acclaimed blockbuster murder mystery series said in a press release on Wednesday that filming is underway on the French Riviera. In addition, the fourth season will film in Cannes, St. Tropez and Monaco, and “filming will also take place in Paris, though the story will remain along the Côte d'Azur,” HBO said in a press release.
“The fourth season will follow a new group of White Lotus hotel guests and employees over the span of a week, taking place during the Cannes Film Festival,” the official synopsis for Season 4 reads.

The timing of the filming is perfect considering that the 2026 Cannes Film Festival will be held in the South of France from May 12 to May 23. Whether White plans on capturing the real sights and sounds of Cannes during filming, including red carpet ceremonies, is yet to be seen.
The ensemble cast for The White Lotus Season 4 includes Helena Bonham Carter, Vincent Cassel, Steve Coogan, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Dylan Ennis, Corentin Fila, Ari Graynor, Marissa Long, Alexander Ludwig, Chris Messina, AJ Michalka, Kumail Nanjiani and Nadia Tereszkiewicz.

Also starring in The White Lotus Season 4 are Chloe Bennet, Sandra Bernhard, Heather Graham, Max Greenfield, Frida Gustavsson, Charlie Hall, Jarrad Paul, Rosie Perez, Ben Schnetzer and Laura Smet.

The hotels to be featured in The White Lotus Season 4 include the Airelles Château de la Messardière as the White Lotus du Cap, as well as the Hôtel Martinez as the White Lotus Cannes, HBO confirmed.
There is no word yet on the release date for the fourth season of The White Lotus, which airs on HBO on cable and streams on HBO Max.

The White Lotus rolls into Season 4 with lots of momentum following the success of Season 3, which starred the likes of Walton Goggins, Jason Issacs, Parker Posey, Aimee Lou Wood, Carrie Coon, Leslie Bibb, Michelle Monaghan, Natasha Rothwell, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Lalisa Manobal, Scott Glenn and Sam Rockwell.

The White Lotus has won 16 Emmys so far, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series in 2022. The White Lotus has also earned Outstanding Supporting Actress Emmys for Jennifer Coolidge for Season 1 and 2, and an Outstading Supporting Actor Emmy for Murray Bartlett for Season 1.
