After becoming the biggest movie of 2026, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is finally available to stream at home. On May 19, Nintendo’s latest blockbuster debuted on digital video-on-demand platforms like Prime Video and Apple TV ahead of its future streaming release on Peacock.
Based on the hit video game franchise, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie serves as a direct sequel to 2023’s blockbuster The Super Mario Bros. Movie. The next installment follows Mario and Luigi as they embark on their biggest adventure yet, traveling across the galaxy to face new challenges and enemies.
“Having thwarted Bowser's previous plot to marry Princess Peach, Mario and Luigi now face a fresh threat in Bowser Jr., who is determined to liberate his father from captivity and restore the family legacy,” the synopsis reads. “Alongside companions new and old, the brothers travel across the stars to stop the young heir's crusade.”
Returning for the sequel are directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, along with the star-studded voice cast, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, and Keegan-Michael Key as Toad reprising their roles. New additions to the cast include Brie Larson as Princess Rosalina, Donald Glover as Yoshi, and Glen Powell as Fox McCloud.

Because the film is distributed by Universal Pictures, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will eventually make its streaming debut on Peacock. The sequel will join the original The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which began streaming on Peacock in August 2023.
When The Super Mario Galaxy Movie arrives on Peacock, viewers will have two subscription options. The first is Peacock Premium (with ads) for $10.99 per month, while the ad-free Premium Plus plan costs $16.99 per month.
Based on Universal’s recent release patterns, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will likely begin streaming on Peacock around three to four months after its April 1 theatrical debut, making August 2026 the most likely release window.
Universal’s recent Peacock release schedule gives a good idea of when The Super Mario Galaxy Movie could begin streaming. Wicked: For Good arrived on Peacock in March 2026, about four months after its theatrical debut, while Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 followed a similar timeline with its April streaming release. Last year’s Jurassic World Rebirth and How to Train Your Dragon also made their Peacock debuts roughly four months after opening in theaters.
