XLOV 'I,God' Sells 224,000 Copies For Career-Best Album Sales Week

XLOV for 2nd Mini Album 'I,God'

XLOV

WM Entertainments Co., Ltd.

While shattering traditional gender norms in the K-pop industry, XLOV are also breaking new sales figures in their career.

The four-member group earned the biggest sales week of their career with their second mini album I,God, which moved 224,291 physical copies in its first week, according to South Korea’s real-time sales chart Hanteo Chart. That figure nearly triples their previous best sales week and signals a meaningful jump in commercial momentum for the rising stars.

Notably, I,God opened selling with 30,428 copies on Day 1 — which was already a career best for the group — but instead of fading from a front-loaded first day, kept climbing. Sales more than doubled on Day 2 to 80,692 and held strong on Day 3 at 67,281 before settling at 27,497 on Day 4. By day two alone, XLOV had already surpassed their previous best first-week total, a sign that the group’s global support is building strong and steadily.

Here is a full listing to see where I,God compares to XLOV’s previous first-week album sales, according to Hanteo:

  1. I,God — 224,291
  2. UXLXVE — 85,155
  3. I ONE — 37,913
  4. I’mma Be — 12,944
  5. I WILL — 1,231

The group’s first-day figures tell a similarly steep upward story. XLOV’s previous best opening day belonged to last year’s UXLXVE with 24,362 copies — a number I,God cleared by over 6,000 copies and one that dwarfs the group’s earliest debut-era figures where first-day sales tended to be in the single-digit thousands.

While sales tracking varies across outlets, retailers, and distributors in Hanteo’s compilation methodology, the larger message for XLOV is one of consistency. I,God’s strong week was not propelled by a single surge of pre-orders, but by sustained demand across the tracking periods.

I,God arrives as the latest chapter in XLOV’s chess-themed narrative world, framed by the group as a “rebirth.” Led by single “SERVE,” the EP leans into the dance-pop, house and contemporary R&B textures that have defined the group since debut with leader Wumuti credited as a producer across most of the album, and members Hyun and Haru contributing as composers and lyricists. The project also introduces XLOV’s first-ever unit songs via the breathy club throbber “Extancy” performed by Wumuti and Rui, while Hyun and Haru star in the more minimalistic and hip-hop-inspired “HIPS.”

The accompanying “SERVE” music video drew additional attention for a cameo from superstar Korean actress Han Sohee, who connected with the group and expressed her hope to work together one day after sharing one of their songs online. Han’s large following (which includes over 16 million Instagram followers) and past music-video cameos (including Jung Kook of BTS’ “Seven” and SHINee’s “Tell Me What to Do”) marked an unexpected but gorgeous collaboration of creatives that only enhanced both sides' artistic merits.

Who Are XLOV?

XLOV is a four-member South Korean group formed by 257 Entertainment, comprising of 26-year-old Wumuti, 25-year-old Rui, 23-year-old Hyun, and 20-year-old Haru. The group’s name combines “X” (representing an unknown element or variable) and “LOV” (an incomplete spelling of the word for“love”), suggesting they can offer a new way to represent love.

The group debuted on January 7, 2025, with the single “I’mma Be.” The members are multinational, representing Uyghur-Chinese (Wumuti), Taiwanese (Rui), Korean (Hyun), and Japanese (Haru). Leader Wumuti competed on several K-pop competition shows, including Under Nineteen, Boys Planet, and Build Up: Vocal Boy Group Survival, before XLOV. At the same time, Rui is also a Boys Planet alumnus.

In early 2026, XLOV and its 257 Entertainment agency were acquired by WM Entertainment, a subsidiary of K-pop label giant RBW Inc., which began helping with management, making XLOV labelmates with WM’s chart-topping act Oh My Girl.

What Is the Concept of XLOV? Is XLOV LGBTQ?

Upon debut, XLOV introduced themselves to the music industry as having “K-pop’s first genderless concept” with the group known for androgynous styling since their start.

For instance, their debut music video, “I’mma Be” (below), features the members in both skirts and pants, as well as finger-wave and shaggy hairstyles, as they sing lines like “See my body moving like this / I’m riding on the wall of prejudice.”

The label has been specific about what the concept does and does not mean. Park Jaeyong, the CEO of 257 Entertainment, told The Korea Times that the four members do not all share a uniform identity or identify as genderless in terms of their individual gender identities, but instead have described XLOV’s androgynous concept as a goal to express “beauty without gender boundaries.”

The members themselves have also framed their work as gender-free art aimed at breaking stereotypes that designate gender roles, with the hope of empowering people to embrace their true selves. At press time, the XLOV members have not commented on their sexualities, gender identities or pronoun preferences, but have stated they are comfortable and will respond to other pronouns beyond male pronouns. The concept is principally an artistic statement about androgyny, self-expression and fearlessness rather than any declaration about the members’ personal identities.

Beyond increasing album sales, the group’s early releases garnered critical acclaim worldwide with their music recognized not only by respected Korean music critics on Idology but also by publications including the Hollywood Reporter, AV Club, PopMatters, Dazed, and Billboard Brazil.

Where Is XLOV Touring in 2026?

XLOV have been expanding their live footprint internationally. After two tours across Japan in 2025, the group played a 16-date European run via their 2026 XLOV Europe Tour “L.O.V.E & u” across January and February.

In June, the group announced a 2026 I,God Tour spanning North America and Latin America, with full details still to be revealed but likely marking a deeper push into Western markets on the strength of their biggest release yet.

Before the tour officially starts, XLOV will connect with fans in the U.S. via special fan meeting events titled “The Runway” in New York and Los Angeles. The first fan events take place on July 4 and 5 at NYC’s Gramercy Theatre before heading to the Novo in LA on July 11 with the quartet testing the waters in two of America’s biggest media hubs. Tickets are on sale via AXS.

Between the career-best numbers, a steadily expanding touring map and a concept that has carved out a distinct lane in the K-pop landscape, I,God is positioning XLOV for their most ambitious chapter so far.
