The Backstreet Boys Score A New Sales Smash For The First Time In Eight Years

60th Academy of Country Music Awards - Arrivals

The Backstreet Boys earn the band's first new hit on the U.K.'s downloads chart in eight years as "Bottle Up" from the new Paw Patrol movie debuts. It's been more than half a decade since the Backstreet Boys released the group's latest traditional studio album, DNA, which dropped in early 2019. Since then, the boy band has shared A Very Backstreet Christmas and only a handful of songs. In 2025, the outfit shared an expanded version of the bestseller Millennium, titled Millennium 2.0, which came with the one-off single "Hey.” Since then, the Grammy-nominated outfit has been relatively quiet, except for live performances, as fans continue to flock to see Nick, Howie, AJ, Brian and Kevin perform.

In a little more than a month, the latest Paw Patrol movie – titled Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie – will hit theaters everywhere. To hype the upcoming animated adventure, the Backstreet Boys recorded a track titled "Bottle Up," which will reportedly be included in the film. The arrival of a new Backstreet Boys song did not generate as much excitement as it used to decades ago, when the boy band ruled the world, though the group does manage to score a new hit with the track on a single roster in the United Kingdom.

Backstreet Boys Debut "Bottle Up" on One Chart

"Bottle Up" only manages to debut on one tally in the U.K., but the fact that it performs well enough to reach any ranking is worthy of applause, considering how long the Backstreet Boys have been going and the general shelf life assigned to boy bands. "Bottle Up" barely registers on the Official Singles Downloads chart, which is built entirely around purchases of songs on websites like iTunes, Amazon and others. This frame, "Bottle Up" enters the rundown at No. 100, in absolute last place.

"Bottle Up" Marks a New Low for the Backstreet Boys

"Bottle Up" now stands as the lowest-peaking song by the Backstreet Boys on the Official Singles Downloads chart. That's not shocking, considering a tune can't stall any lower and still place on the tally. Before this week, that distinction was assigned to "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)," which didn't land on the Official Singles Downloads register until 2016 – well over a decade after it was pushed as a single – when it peaked at No. 70.

Backstreet Boys Return With a New Hit After Eight Years

It's been nearly eight years since the Backstreet Boys collected a new hit on the Official Singles Downloads chart. Back in November 2018, "Chances" spent one week at No. 43, narrowly missing out on entering the top 40. The Grammy-nominated band first appeared on the list in June 2005 with "Incomplete." A few months later, "Just Want You to Know" soared all the way to No. 6, and it still stands as the troupe's only top 10 hit on the downloads roster in the U.K.

BTS Leads the Downloads List with “Come Over”

While the Official Singles Downloads chart features 100 spaces, just seven tracks debut this week. The roster is led by a new arrival, as "Come Over," the latest focus track from BTS's comeback album Arirang, arrives at the summit. The Official Singles Downloads roster is bookended by boy bands, though ones that sound very different from one another. BTS collects its seventh No. 1 and eighteenth top 10 as "Come Over" launches.

Here are all of the debuts on this week's Official Singles Downloads chart.

  • No. 1 - BTS - “Come Over”
  • No. 21 - Aitch - “RMB (Ring My Bell)”
  • No. 45 - Olivia Rodrigo - “Stupid Song”
  • No. 46 - Le Sserafim, Katseye & Illit - “Iconic By Mistake”
  • No. 85 - Kimo Sounds - “Rise Slow”
  • No. 89 - Alan Parsons Project - “Sirius”
  • No. 100 - Backstreet Boys - “Bottle Up”
