There are only a relatively small number of albums that have lived on the Billboard 200 – the chart company of the same name’s ranking of the 200 most popular EPs and full-lengths in the U.S. – for 10 years. An entire decade of moving thousands, sometimes 10,000 new equivalent album units or more, week after week after week is the kind of feat reserved for only the biggest names in the music business, and most well-known artists will never come even close to that milestone.
This week, two superstars see hugely successful albums make it to that number in what could potentially be a first when it comes to the Billboard 200. For one of those acts, it’s a first, but for Drake, he manages the showing for the second time in his career.
Drake’s Nothing Was the Same is one of nine albums by the Canadian hip-hop powerhouse to live on at least one Billboard tally at the moment, and it is the only one that appears on a single roster, the Billboard 200. As the project improves slightly from No. 185 to No. 180, it celebrates its five hundred twentieth frame on the rundown.
Amazingly, Nothing Was the Same is Drake’s second album to reach a decade on the Billboard 200, and the first did so years ago. Take Care remains the Grammy winner’s longest-charting title, with 685 turns on the tally to its credit.
Take Care remains the thirteenth longest-running set on the list, and amazingly, out of the rapper’s nine current placements on the rundown, it is his loftiest win. Take Care is steady at No. 28, standing out as Drake’s only top 40 album.
Drake likely won’t have to wait long before he scores an incredible third album with a decade on the Billboard 200. Views, which followed Nothing Was the Same by little less than three years, is up to 518 weeks on the chart, and it’s still going strong at No. 44.

Take Care, Nothing Was the Same, and Views are counted among Drake’s 14 No. 1s on the Billboard 200. The first two – those that have already made it to 10 years on the ranking – only lived in the penthouse for one frame apiece, while Views managed an incredible 13 stints at the summit.
Drake is currently tied with Jay-Z for the third-most No. 1s in the more than half-century-long history of the Billboard 200. The Beatles have held the all-time record for years, and the Fab Four are not in danger of losing that title, at least not yet. The Beatles racked up 19 No. 1s, while Taylor Swift recently passed both Jay-Z and Drake when The Life of a Showgirl opened atop the tally with the largest starting sum of all time, just over four million equivalent album units.
At the same time that Nothing Was the Same reaches its first decade on the Billboard 200, one of Drake’s frequent collaborators enjoys the same anniversary. Rihanna’s Anti – which is still her most recent release, despite the fact that it recently turned 10 – arrives at the same number at the same time. Drake and Rihanna have worked together on multiple hit singles, including a pair of No. 1s on the Billboard Hot 100, as both “What’s My Name?” and “Work” topped that songs ranking.
