Owain Rhys Davies, who played Agent Wilson in the 2017 reboot of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks, has died.
Davies’ brother, Rhodri, made the announcement on Instagram on Sunday. Davies was 44.
“This news will come as a great shock to many. While there are still questions that remain unanswered regarding the circumstances of his death, our understanding at this stage is that Owain passed suddenly, naturally, and peacefully,” the post reads.

“The reach of Owain’s love, friendship, and generosity was vast," the post added. "The outpouring of messages we have received over the past few days has been deeply moving and a testament to the impact he had on so many lives.”
Davies played Agent Wilson in Episodes 14, 15 and 16 of Twin Peaks in the 2017 revival, which featured the return of series stars Kyle MacLachlan and Sheryl Lee. His credits also include a voice role as Delivery Frog in the Alice in Wonderland sequel Alice Through the Looking Glass starring Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska, and a guest role in the Netflix series The OA in 2019.
Owain Rhys Davies was born on Feb. 20, 1984, in Cardiff, Wales, U.K. His first showbiz credit came as the voice of Goblin in the video game RuneScape in 2001.
Davies’ screen credits also included the 2019 British horror comedy A Serial Killer’s Guide to Life and 2020’s political spoof The Real Founding Fathers of America, where he played Alexander Hamilton.

“Owain was fortunate enough to have more than one family,” Davies’ brother also wrote in his Instagram post. "Alongside his biological one, he built extraordinary, family-like bonds with many of his closest friends, colleagues, and loved ones.
“I am incredibly proud that, while he was my brother, he was also a brother to so many others,” the post added. “We know that this loss will be felt by a great many people, and we take comfort in knowing how loved he was.”
