Wireless Festival 2025 - Day Two

Views becomes Drake's third album — and second in only a month — to celebrate a decade, or 520 weeks, on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Keeping an album on the Billboard 200 – the chart company’s flagship ranking for albums and EPs – for long periods of time is not as difficult as it used to be. The Billboard 200 was for many years compiled exclusively using sales data, but several years back, streaming activity was also factored into its methodology. That change has helped dozens, if not hundreds, of titles hold on for longer than they may have if purchases were all that mattered.

Streams of an album in full or of just one track from a project can play a role in its steady success on the Billboard 200, and Drake has benefited immensely from Billboard’s introduction of streaming data into its most important albums tally. Just two weeks after one of his most popular releases reached an extremely rare milestone, yet another full-length by the Canadian hip-hop talent manages the exact same showing.

Drake’s Views Reaches 520 Weeks on the Billboard 200

As of this frame, Views reaches 520 weeks on the Billboard 200. That’s a decade as one of the 200 most-consumed albums in the United States. At the moment, Views climbs back into the top 40, jumping from No. 43 to No. 36, and it currently ranks as Drake’s second-highest-placing set, behind only Take Care.

Drake’s Views Joins Nothing Was The Same And Take Care

Many artists that reach the Billboard 200 will never see an album make it to a full year on the roster. Even some superstars claim only one or two efforts that have reached that milestone and then kept going.

Drake stands alone – perhaps entirely alone – when looking at all acts in one regard. Views is his third project to celebrate an entire decade on the Billboard 200. Just two weeks ago, Nothing Was The Same became his second, and it’s now up to 522 stays on the roster. Take Care holds as Drake’s longest-charting album, with 687 weeks on the tally to its credit. That makes it not only the sturdiest within Drake’s catalog, but also one of the longest-charting albums of all time.

Views Remains Drake’s Longest-Running No. 1

Views is included in Drake’s 14 No. 1s on the Billboard 200. He is currently tied with Jay-Z for the third-most rulers ever, behind only The Beatles, with 19, and Taylor Swift, with 15. She passed the two rappers only several months ago when The Life Of A Showgirl earned the largest starting sum of all time.

Views opened atop the Billboard 200 summit in May 2016, arriving with just over one million equivalent units shifted to date. Views remains Drake’s only project to claim double-digit spans atop the albums chart, as it ruled for a lucky 13 periods. Two titles by the hip-hop musician – Certified Lover Boy and If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late – are tied as his second-longest-running rulers with only five weeks at No. 1 apiece. Combined, that’s less than half of the total that Views managed.

Drake’s Views Lives Inside the Top 10 on Several Charts

This frame, Views appears on four Billboard charts, and amazingly, it’s a top 10 hit on half of them. Views climbs slightly to No. 4 on the Top Rap Albums list, while descending one peg to No. 10 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums tally. Views occupies a spot within the top 40 on each ranking, and it settles at No. 30, up eight slots, on the Top Streaming Albums rundown.

Drake’s Her Loss Reenters the Billboard 200

Views is one of 10 releases by Drake that currently sit on the Billboard 200, and each and every one of those efforts climbs from where they sat last time around now that the chart is not nearly as busy with Record Store Day releases. That disappearance of multiple bestsellers allows Her Loss, a collaborative project with 21 Savage, to reenter at No. 191.
