I’ve been on a bit of a health kick lately and I’m doing a hot yoga challenge at the moemnt, which means I’ve done a bunch of grueling, sweaty hot yoga classes over the last week, which means I’m pretty much worn down to the nub. The clue: This Wordle has a triple letter.

Wordle is a daily word puzzle game where your goal is to guess a hidden five-letter word in six tries or fewer. After each guess, the game gives feedback to help you get closer to the answer:
Use these clues to narrow down your guesses. Every day brings a new word, and everyone around the world is trying to solve the same puzzle. Some Wordlers also play Competitive Wordle against friends, family, the Wordle Bot or even against me, your humble narrator. See rules for Competitive Wordle toward the end of this post.
Okay, spoilers below! The answer is coming!

MAGIC was a surprisingly good opening guess, and rather fitting given today’s Wordle. With 66 words left, SPORE slashed that number down by 60 and I thought ELFIN was a nice pairing for MAGIC so that’s what I guessed on #4. Lucky for me, that was the Wordle!

The ties continue. Our new April totals nudge byn one:
Erik: 8 points
Wordle Bot: 8 points
“Elfin” comes from “elf” + the suffix “-in,” meaning “pertaining to” or “characteristic of.” “Elf” itself derives from Old English ælf, from Proto-Germanic albiz, referring to a supernatural being.
Originally, “elfin” (16th century) meant “of or relating to elves,” but it later took on the sense of something small, delicate, mischievous, or otherworldly in appearance.
