2026 is only a few months old, but already it is turning out to be perhaps the biggest year yet for Katseye. The girl group recently scored its first two Grammy nominations, earning both love from the industry as well as from fans, and the singers drew a massive crowd during the first weekend of Coachella.
Katseye has already delivered two singles so far this year, “Internet Girl” and “Pinky Up.” An EP – the outfit’s third, titled Wild – is scheduled to arrive this summer. Ahead of what may be a months-long promotional campaign, “Pinky Up” debuts on one Billboard chart, earning the troupe an initial win on a list the musicians had never reached before.
On this week’s Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart, one of the more recent additions to Billboard’s lineup, “Pinky Up” opens at No. 13. That is the only tally where the track arrives, but that doesn’t mean it is an underperformer.
“Pinky Up” was released to the world on Thursday (April 9), which means the tune only enjoyed less than a day of tracking before a new week began. Katseye likely wanted to deliver the studio recording before performing at Coachella, and there’s a high likelihood that in a few days, when Billboard refreshes its rosters, “Pinky Up” will not only climb on the Hot Dance/Pop Songs tally, but launch on several other lists as well.
MORE FOR YOU
Katseye appears on the Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart for the first time as the girl group earns the only new entry this frame. Two former hits, Charli XCX’s “Dying for You” and “Girl Like Me” by PinkPantheress, reenter at Nos. 14 and 15, respectively.
This week, “Pinky Up” is Katseye’s only hit in America, though the band also appears on two worldwide tallies. “Gabriela,” one of several singles taken from the Beautiful Chaos EP, improves on both the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. and Billboard Global 200. “Gabriela” shoots to No. 77 on the former and No. 79 on the latter. In the 42 weeks that the smash has been rising and falling, “Gabriela” has peaked just outside the top 10, bringing Katseye frustratingly close to the most competitive tier on a pair of the busiest rankings.
Thus far, Katseye has released only two EPs, and both are top performers in America once more. Looking at the Billboard 200, Beautiful Chaos jumps from No. 116 to No. 108. At the same time, SIS (Soft Is Strong), the outfit’s first project, returns at No. 168.
The reverse order appears on the Top Album Sales chart, which looks only at purchases, while the Billboard 200 also takes into account various other forms of consumption. SIS (Soft Is Strong) bolts from No. 35 to No. 16, while Beautiful Chaos improves just one peg to No. 25.
While only Beautiful Chaos reached the top 10 on the Billboard 200, SIS (Soft Is Strong) barely broke the top 100. The two EPs did manage to spend time inside the top 10 on the Top Album Sales ranking.
