Bruno Mars’s Latest No. 1 Is Almost His Longest-Running Champion

2021 American Music Awards - Fixed Show

"I Just Might" breaks its tie with "Leave the Door Open" within Bruno Mars's catalog and becomes his second-longest-running No. 1 on Billboard's Radio Songs chart. Nearly two months ago, Bruno Mars released his highly-anticipated new album, The Romantic. The set marked his first solo collection in just under a decade, although during that time, he had toured extensively, promoted multiple collaborations with other acts, and even teamed up with Anderson .Paak to form the super duo Silk Sonic, which produced one album.

Mars helped hype the world for his then-upcoming full-length by dropping “I Just Might,” the first single from The Romantic, early in 2026. In the months since that tune arrived, it has remained a huge hit in America, even after the singer-songwriter moved on to promoting a second cut, “Risk It All,” from his project.

“I Just Might” lives inside the top 10 on a dozen Billboard charts, and it sits at No. 1 on several simultaneously. As “I Just Might” once again stands out as the most successful track across all radio stations in the U.S., the song breaks out of a recently-set tie with several other smashes by Mars and moves up again within his own discography.

Bruno Mars’s “I Just Might” Rules the Radio Songs Chart

“I Just Might” is steady atop the Radio Songs chart, which Billboard publishes each week to show which pieces of music rack up the greatest number of total audience impressions. The company publishes a number of tallies that focus on one airplay focused on genre or another, but the Radio Songs list is the most competitive of the bunch, as it includes all styles of music and all radio stations throughout the country. “I Just Might” has spent 16 weeks on the Radio Songs chart, and 11 of those have been at No. 1.

Bruno Mars’s “Leave The Door Open” Now Trails Behind

Just last frame, “I Just Might” matched “Leave The Door Open,” the biggest hit by Silk Sonic, in terms of time spent at No. 1 on the Radio Songs chart. Now, “I Just Might” has passed one of Mars’s most popular collaborations, which stopped running the show on the Radio Songs tally after an even 10 turns in the penthouse.

“Leave The Door Open” is Mars’s third-longest-running leader on the Radio Songs rundown. It now trails “I Just Might” and “Uptown Funk!,” which saw Mars work with super producer and hitmaker Mark Ronson. That cut managed a dozen frames in the top spot – a sum that Mars’s latest ruler could match in just a few days, and then potentially pass.

Bruno Mars’s “I Just Might” Tops Six Billboard Charts

In addition to the Radio Songs chart, “I Just Might” appears at No. 1 on five additional rankings published by Billboard. The cut is steady in that position on the Adult Pop Airplay, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, and Hot R&B Songs charts. “I Just Might” lifts from No. 2 back to the peak position on the R&B Streaming Songs roster. The track manages nearly the same showing on the R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs rundown, where “I Just Might” appeared at No. 3 last frame. Now it’s in charge once again.

“I Just Might” Became His Eleventh Radio Songs No. 1

“I Just Might” debuted on the Radio Songs chart on the list dated January 24, 2026. It required only about a month before it stormed to the peak position. On the ranking dated February 28, when “I Just Might” made it to No. 1, it became Mars’s eleventh leader. He’s currently tied with Mariah Carey for the second-most appearances at No. 1, as both superstar songwriters and performers have racked up 11 champions. Only Rihanna, with a lucky 13, has scored a greater number of winners.

“Risk It All” Nearly Reaches the Top 10

Mars nearly bookends the top 10 on this week’s Radio Songs chart, but misses out on accomplishing that relatively uncommon showing by just one space. “Risk It All” climbs from No. 15 to No. 11, a new high in its sixth stint on the list. If “Risk It All” can grow again in the coming weeks and break into the top 10, which seems not just likely, but perhaps like an inevitability, it will become Mars’s twenty-second top 10 smash. He’s only pushed 29 songs to the list, and very few have failed to find their way into the loftiest arena.
