Taemin made sure to maximize every moment of his Coachella debut by bringing his signature showmanship while also premiering nearly an album’s worth of new material live.

The K-pop superstar took to the Mojave Stage at 7:00 p.m. for a heavily choreographed set that only slowed down when Taemin sat down to play at the piano. After an introductory video, the singer opened with his 2024 single “Sexy in the Air” followed by 2017’s “WANT.” Taemin quickly transitioned into two never-before-heard tracks — later revealed to be titled “Permission” and “Parasite” — marking the first of the multiple unreleased songs he premiered at the festival.

“Wassup, Coachella — my name is Taemin, I’m so happy to see all of you here,” the 32-year-old announced to the packed audience while a huge ‘Taemin Coachella - Indio 2026’ was displayed across the massive LED screens behind him. “I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time. I am so happy to share it with you.”

With a live band and full dancer troupe backing him, Taemin roared through newly rearranged live versions of hits like “MOVE,” “Guilty,” “Advice” and “IDEA” that found new life with dramatic, epic renditions for Coachella.

After performing his 2020 fan-favorite cut “Heaven,” Taemin sat at the grand piano he brought on stage to show off his virtuosity as a pianist and previewed another new song, later revealed to be titled “Frankenstein.”

Before the set closed, Taemin teased the audience, saying, “How do you guys like my new songs?” hinting that he will be — hopefully — officially releasing them soon. Taemin moved labels last month and joined Galaxy Corporation, also home to fellow K-pop icon G-Dragon, which is marking his first step in releasing loads of new music in 2026.

After letting his band freestyle while he changed outfits, Taemin ended his set with three more new songs “Let Me Be the One,” “Sober” and “1004,” the former of which included a throwback-inspired track that sounded reminiscent of his boy band SHINee while “1004” was a stunning piano-led powerhouse track that spotlighted his belting abilities.

In an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show ahead of Coachella, Taemin spoke about the importance of his booking Coachella, sharing, “There is a saying in Korea, ‘Big opportunities come three times in life,’ and this is one of them.” For an artist who booked Coachella from the strength of his first-ever U.S. solo tour after nearly 20 years of only touring Asia, Taemin knows the importance of this moment and did not waste the opportunity to showcase all he can do and what more he could do in the future on even bigger stages.
