Each and every week on the music charts in the United Kingdom, Queen fares better than most acts. The fact that the legendary rockers have not released a brand new studio LP in more than 30 years seems to have no effect on the group’s performance. The outfit often sees multiple albums and several singles chart together, and this time around, a handful of popular smashes return, helping Queen become one of the most successful acts this frame on one genre-specific rundown.

“We Will Rock You” and “I Want to Break Free” Return

On the current edition of the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart, which details the bestselling tunes in those styles throughout the U.K., Queen claims an incredible five hits. Two of those tracks, “We Will Rock You” and “I Want to Break Free,” rebound onto the 40-spot tally, becoming big wins once more. “We Will Rock You” finds its way to No. 39, while “I Want to Break Free” settles in one space lower at No. 40.

“Don’t Stop Me Now” and “Bohemian Rhapsody” Lead

Counted among Queen’s five appearances on this week’s Official Rock & Metal Singles chart are two top 10s. “Don’t Stop Me Now” improves to No. 4, while “Bohemian Rhapsody” inches north one spot to No. 9. “Another One Bites the Dust” also gains ground, and it can be found at No. 20, smack dab in the middle of the roster.

“We Will Rock You” and “I Want to Break Free” Missed No. 1

“We Will Rock You” and “I Want to Break Free” are counted among Queen’s many top 10 hits on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart, though despite their immense popularity, neither one has reached the summit. “We Will Rock You” came closest, as it peaked at No. 2. “I Want to Break Free,” meanwhile, stalled at No. 4. “Another One Bites the Dust” also missed the throne, as it only surged as high as No. 3. Both “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Don’t Stop Me Now” have taken turns running the show in the past.

Queen’s Hits Have All Charted For Years

While not all of Queen’s five current smashes on the Official Rock & Metal Singles tally have made it to No. 1, they have all lived on the chart for hundreds of weeks. “I Want to Break Free” is the newest of the bunch, with only 447 frames on the rundown to its credit. That would be a career high for almost any other rock act, but for Queen, it pales in comparison to how long several other wins have held on.

“Another One Bites the Dust” is up to 594 weeks, “We Will Rock You” ups its count to 709 as it returns, and both “Don’t Stop Me Now” and “Bohemian Rhapsody” recently cracked 900 periods as some of the most successful rock cuts in the nation.

Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” Slips Outside the Top 10

“Don’t Stop Me Now,” “Another One Bites the Dust,” “We Will Rock You,” and “I Want to Break Free” only appear on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart, while “Bohemian Rhapsody” was a top 10 hit on a trio of tallies just days ago. As it lifts ever so slightly on the rock ranking, “Bohemian Rhapsody” dips to No. 11 on both the Official Vinyl Singles and Official Physical Singles charts, slipping outside the uppermost region.

Queen Trails Linkin Park on the Rock Songs Chart

This week, Queen claims the second-most wins on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart. Only Linkin Park beats the band, and by just one smash. Several other favorites of those genres, including AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, and Green Day, also fill multiple spaces.
