You, Me & Tuscany, starring Halle Bailey and Regé-Jean Page, is new in theaters this weekend and many Rotten Tomatoes critics are happy to be along for the ride.
Directed by Kat Coiro (Girls5eva, Marry Me) and produced by Will Packer (Girls Trip), You, Me & Tuscany opens in theaters nationwide on Friday. You Me & Tuscany stars Bailey (The Little Mermaid) as Anna, a down-on-her-luck woman in her 20s who jets off to Italy and crashes without permission at an empty villa, only to be mistaken as the fiancée of its owner, Matteo (Lorenzo de Moor).

As of Friday, You, Me & Tuscany has earned a 70% “fresh” critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer based on 61 reviews. The RT Critics Consensus, Audience Summary and Popcornmeter score based on verified user ratings are still pending.
Andrew Lawrence of the Guardian is among the top critics on RT who gives You Me & Tuscany a “fresh” score on RT, calling the film “a perfectly wholesome and harmless meet-cute that starts by asking: ‘What if the Little Mermaid had a Lady and the Tramp-style hookup with the season one heart-throb from Bridgerton, spaghetti and all?’”
Caryn James of The Hollywood Reporter also gives the film a “fresh” score, writing on RT, “You, Me & Tuscany is entirely by-the-numbers ... But it is expertly directed by Kat Coiro and produced by Will Packer for maximum crowd-pleasing impact, offering the kind of pretty escapist fantasy that is especially appealing in these fraught times.”

Brian Truitt of USA Today has some reservations about the film, but still gives it a “fresh” score. Truitt writes on RT, “While You, Me & Tuscany doesn’t add anything significantly new or innovative to the rom-com recipe, it’s a breezy respite for those who dig the familiar in their escapist pleasure.”
Michael Ordoña of The Wrap is among the top critics on RT who gives You, Me & Tuscany a “rotten” score. Ordoña writes in his RT review summary, “Yes, it’s one of those rom-coms, in which the protagonist’s deceptions would be unforgivable IRL, but in the fanciful world of big-screen, beautiful love, it’s all somehow OK.”

Rory Doherty of AV Club also gives the film a “rotten” score on RT, writing, “You, Me & Tuscany bought the right ticket, but it’s flying to Italy on autopilot.”
Rated PG-13, You, Me & Tuscany is playing in theaters nationwide.
