Sunday is here and your dear and humble narrator is still sick. I’m sick of being sick and snotty and my throat hurting and having no energy, and I’m determined to complain about it to you fine Strandistarians before moving on to solve today’s NYT Strands puzzle. Complaining helps. I feel better already. Let’s find some words!

Strands is the newest game in the New York Times’ stable of puzzle games. It’s a fun twist on classic word search games. Every day we’re given a new theme and then tasked with uncovering all the words on the grid that fit that theme, including a spangram that spans two sides of the board. One of these words is the spangram which crosses from one side of the grid to another and reveals even more about the day’s theme.

I think my brain is just on half power right now because this wasn’t that hard but it sure took me a minute to find my first word. Then I found the spangram second! I suppose it helps that it’s on the border like that, and finding FIXED — and it not working — made me look for the spangram.
