67th Annual GRAMMY Awards - Show

Shakira's two World Cup-related smashes — "Dai Dai" with Burna Boy and “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” with Freshlyground — debut together in the U.K. LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - FEBRUARY 02: Shakira performs onstage during the 67th Annual GRAMMY Awards at Crypto.com Arena on February 02, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. 35 years after she released her debut album – which arrived long before she made a major impact in countries like the United States and the United Kingdom – Shakira remains not just successful, but a hitmaker. For more than a decade and a half, the Colombian singer-songwriter has been churning out smashes connected to the World Cup. The soccer organization often drops compilation albums associated with each iteration of the global competition, and typically, Shakira is involved.

For the 2026 round of games, the Grammy winner teamed up with Nigerian talent Burna Boy, and the two produced "Dai Dai," which has become a standout from the Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Album. "Dai Dai" debuts on one chart in the U.K. this week, and amazingly, Shakira scores multiple new wins on that roster simultaneously.

Shakira Debuts "Dai Dai" as a Streaming Smash

Two hit songs by Shakira appear on the Official Streaming chart – the list of the most-played tracks in the U.K. on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music and others – for the first time. "Dai Dai" opens at No. 44, nearly becoming another top 40 streaming smash for the Colombian musician. At the same time, "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)," which Shakira and Freshlyground dropped for the 2010 FIFA World Cup album more than a decade and a half ago, finally becomes a streaming smash in the U.K. as it enters at No. 59.

Shakira Had Scored Three Streaming Smashes in 2026

Shakira has now racked up half a dozen hits on the Official Streaming chart throughout her career. Amazingly, half of those tunes have debuted on the streaming-only tally in 2026.

Back in January, "Zoo," which Shakira wrote and recorded for the latest in the Zootopia animated film franchise, climbed all the way to No. 66. That track is not one of Shakira's highest-rising wins, but it is her longest-charting cut, as it spent 13 frames somewhere on the roster.

Shakira First Hit the Streaming Tally in 2014

Shakira first appeared on the Official Streaming chart more than a decade ago. She teamed up with Rihanna for "Can't Remember to Forget You," which in July 2014 only danced its way to No. 94. At the same time that "Can't Remember to Forget You" launched, "La La La," a collaboration with Carlinhos Brown, pushed all the way to No. 31.

Shakira would collect her third career placement on the Official Streaming chart nearly a decade later, in January 2023. "BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53," one in a long series of collaborative cuts by producer Bizarrap, became Shakira's highest-rising win when it peaked at No. 26.

"Dai Dai" Dances to New Highs on Several Charts

While "Dai Dai" may be new to the Official Streaming chart, it has already spent a month on several other rankings in the U.K. This is week No. 3 for "Dai Dai" on the Official Singles tally, and it bolts to a new high point of No. 28, soaring all the way from No. 81.

The collaboration also breaks into the top 10 for the first time on both the Official Singles Downloads and Official Singles Sales rundowns. "Dai Dai" leaps to No. 4 on the downloads-only tally and No. 8 on the general ranking of the bestselling tunes throughout the U.K.

Burna Boy Scores Yet Another Streaming Success

Burna Boy earns his twenty-first hit on the Official Streaming chart, more than three times as many as Shakira. That roundup includes a trio of top 10 smashes – his own "Last Last" (No. 4), "Location" with Dave (No. 10) and "Own It," a collaboration with both Stormzy and Ed Sheeran, which failed to become the most-streamed tune in the U.K. by just one spot.
