Filming of the fourth season of the HBO original series The White Lotus will begin in Cannes on the French Riviera. The glamorous resort city has played a prominent role in international film and TV production since 1946 as the home of the annual Cannes Film Festival (held at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès).
The two luxury hotels that will play starring roles in the Emmy award-winning series are Airelles Château de la Messardière, appearing as the White Lotus du Cap, and the Hôtel Martinez, appearing as the White Lotus Cannes.
The names of the hotels featured in the upcoming season were confirmed by Variety last January. However, in a recent press release, Warner Bros. Discovery announced additional details about the locations and storyline.

While the story takes place over a single week at the Cannes Film Festival, the making of Season 4 will actually require more than 50 days of shooting spread across a four-month timeframe.
In addition to the luxury hotel sites, Season 4 will showcase the iconic Palais des Festivals et des Congrès and other locations in Cannes, St. Tropez and Monaco. Although some filming will take place in Paris, the plot will be limited to the Côte d’Azur.

Created, written and directed by Mike White, Warner Bros. Discovery has announced that The White Lotus Season 4 will feature Helena Bonham Carter, Vincent Cassel, Steve Coogan, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Dylan Ennis, Corentin Fila, Ari Graynor, Marissa Long, Alexander Ludwig, Chris Messina, AJ Michalka, Kumail Nanjiani and Nadia Tereszkiewicz.
Additional cast members include Chloe Bennet, Sandra Bernhard, Heather Graham, Max Greenfield, Frida Gustavsson, Charlie Hall, Jarrad Paul, Rosie Perez, Ben Schnetzer and Laura Smet.
Each prior location featured in the Emmy-winning series reported a dramatic spike in hotel bookings and local tourism, a phenomenon dubbed “The White Lotus Effect.”
As a result, competition to host the new season was keen. According to a press release from the Cannes Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, the choice of Cannes came about as part of an international competition, which included interest from France, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Germany and Norway.
It is anticipated that the project will boost tourism and global visibility in Cannes, generating more than 17,000 overnight stays within the city. Also, the city anticipates the initiative will strengthen its long-standing reputation as a sought-after filming destination.
It seems Mike White and his team have chosen another ideal White Lotus setting to satirize the rich and famous. Season 4 is set to premiere in early 2027.
