The Emmy-winning comedy series Hacks, starring Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder, is back for its fifth and final season with 10 episodes on HBO Max.
Hacks — which has won the last two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series — premiered on HBO Max in 2020. Hacks has been nominated for 55 Primetime Emmys in its first four seasons and has won 12, including four wins in a row for Smart for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series and a win for Einbinder for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.

Hacks follows the dynamic between legendary comedian Deborah Vance (Smart) and her young comedy writer Ava Daniels (Einbinder). Hacks Season 5 follows the two trying to secure Deb’s showbiz legacy after they return to Las Vegas after unflattering reports surface that the comedy legend has died.
The first of the 10 episodes in Hacks premiered on HBO Max on Thursday at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. The remainder of the series’ nine episodes will premiere in the same time slot on HBO Max on Thursdays through May 28.
