Even when he has nothing new to promote, and after months of quiet, Eminem seems to have no trouble ranking as one of the bestselling rap musicians in America. He often claims multiple hits across a number of Billboard charts, some of which succeed week after week thanks to continued purchases. This time around, the Grammy winner claims two of the 10 bestselling rap tracks in the nation, with one nearly reconquering a competitive roster, while the other establishes a new high.
Eminem nearly regains control of the Rap Digital Song Sales chart, which details the top-selling tunes in that one genre via stores online such as iTunes, Amazon, and others. “Lose Yourself” lifts one space, improving from No. 3 to No. 2. Only T.I.’s “Let ‘Em Know,” which is steady at the summit, blocks him from finding his way back to the highest rung.
“Lose Yourself” is counted among Eminem’s 19 No. 1 smashes on the Rap Digital Song Sales chart. “Lose Yourself” debuted on the list in January 2010, and it required nearly 15 years before it finally reached the penthouse. “Lose Yourself,” which won Eminem an Academy Award, the rare hip-hop track to claim the Best Original Song category, didn’t lead the charge on the Rap Digital Song Sales roster until last December.
“Lose Yourself” easily ranks as Eminem’s longest-charting tune and one of the bestselling rap cuts of all time. As of this period, Eminem’s classic has spent 535 weeks on the list, which now features just 10 spaces. “Lose Yourself” is one of several smashes by Eminem to manage triple-digit week stays, including “Love the Way You Lie” with Rihanna and “Not Afraid.” The cut’s stretch on the tally makes its single frame at No. 1 that much more of a head scratcher.
“Lose Yourself” is Eminem’s only hit to land on multiple charts in America. As it nearly tops the Rap Digital Song Sales tally once more, the track returns to the top 10 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales rundown. That tally includes not just rap music, but also hip-hop and R&B, and this frame, and this time around, “Lose Yourself” pushes from No. 11 to No. 7. Unlike on the rap-only roster, “Lose Yourself” has never managed to dominate that chart, as it’s stalled just shy at No. 2.
Eminem fills a pair of spots on the Rap Digital Song Sales chart, which only features 10 slots. “Till I Collapse,” his collaboration with Nate Dogg, finds its way back to the tally and settles at No. 7. 185 weeks into its tenure on the list, “Till I Collapse” reaches a new peak position.
Eminem has seen 79 different compositions break into the Rap Digital Song Sales chart’s top 10, and “Till I Collapse” is now one of 11 tunes by Eminem to stall in seventh place, and it is easily the longest-charting of the bunch. That roundup includes hit singles like “Without Me,” “Infinite,” “Forgot About Dre,” which is fronted by Dr. Dre and credits Eminem as a featured act, as well as team-ups with 50 Cent, Sia, and Pink.
Two of Eminem’s most celebrated singles manage to appear on one of Billboard’s worldwide rosters, but no lists that are specific to American consumption. “Without Me” and “Love the Way You Lie,” which also includes Rihanna, both appear on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. That tally ranks the most popular songs all around the planet without any streams or sales from Americans factored into its methodology. “Without Me” turns around and pushes from No. 172 to No. 170, while “Love the Way You Lie” dips to No. 185 in its tenth turn on the tally.
