2025 Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival - Weekend 2 - Day 3

Jennie becomes the third K-pop act to hit Billboard's Radio Songs chart more than once as "Dracula," her team-up with Tame Impala, debuts. On the American charts, K-pop artists typically perform best when looking at lists that focus entirely on sales. Some of the biggest names from that genre, be they groups or soloists, have developed fan bases so radical in their devotion that they will not only purchase a brand new album or single the moment it drops, but oftentimes will do so multiple times, helping ensure the title rises as high as possible on the Billboard rankings.

Where K-pop still has a long way to go is on various radio and airplay charts throughout the United States. Performance on those tallies is usually only possible with expensive and involved campaigns, which require a lot of outreach to DJs and programmers, and then hopefully their sustained interest in one single or another.

Blackpink member Jennie returns to the Radio Songs chart with “Dracula,” her hugely successful collaboration with alternative musical project Tame Impala. As that tune gets off to a very slow start, Jennie joins two other names from South Korea in a special showing.

“Dracula” Debuts on Billboard’s Radio Songs Chart

“Dracula” opens at No. 49, in second-to-last place on Billboard’s Radio Songs chart. The roster, alongside the Streaming Songs and Digital Song Sales tallies, is representative of one of the three metrics that help build the Billboard Hot 100, the most important songs tally in the nation. It has proved incredibly difficult for many K-pop artists to reach once, let alone several times.

MORE FOR YOU

Jennie Doubles Her Radio Songs Appearances

Jennie doubles her total number of wins on the Radio Songs chart as “Dracula” launches. She became one of only a handful of K-pop solo stars to land on the list in the spring of 2024, a little over two years ago. Jennie, alongside The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp, pushed “One of the Girls” – written and recorded for the short-lived TV show The Idol – to No. 48. In its three weeks on the rundown, “One of the Girls” only danced a single spot higher than where “Dracula” enters.

BTS and Jung Kook Claim the Most Radio Songs Hits

Jennie is just the third K-pop musician to appear on the Radio Songs chart more than once. BTS leads all artists from South Korea with four wins. The group surged as high as No. 10 more than half a decade ago with “Dynamite.” “Swim,” the band’s current single – which is present on the roster and which fronts the band’s comeback album Arirang – stands as its second-highest-rising smash, now that it has topped out at No. 18. “Butter” peaked at No. 20, while “My Universe,” a collaboration with Coldplay, stalled at No. 25.

BTS member Jung Kook comes next with three Radio Songs successes. His team-up with Charlie Puth, “Left and Right,” brought him to No. 28, which continues to hold as his best showing yet on his own. Alongside The Kid Laroi and Central Cee, Jung Kook aided “Too Much” in ascending to No. 38. The singer and dancer’s own “Seven,” which features rapper Latto, somewhat surprisingly never pushed above No. 43, despite the fact that it topped the Billboard Hot 100.

Tame Impala Earns First Radio Songs Hit With “Dracula”

Tame Impala scores its first hit on the Radio Songs chart with “Dracula.” Amazingly, Jennie reaches the tally before Blackpink, which has still never managed to rack up a smash on the general radio roster, though the girl group has proved far more successful on some of the American pop tallies.

“Dracula” Lives on More Than a Dozen Billboard Charts

This week, “Dracula” makes a home on 19 different Billboard charts, and it is almost universally on the rise. The collaboration does hold on multiple lists exactly where it sat last frame, but on any of those rankings, it does not appear beneath No. 3. The Radio Songs chart is the only rundown where “Dracula” appears for the first time, while the cut does lift to a new peak on more than half a dozen registers.
