Finally, something to report about Warner Brothers other than its merger with Paramount. Yesterday, the Warner Bros. Television Group announced that it will spotlight its acclaimed medical drama The Pitt with a special week-long event on the A Lot More podcast. The event will run from Monday, May 11 through Friday, May 15, held during National Hospital Week.

National Hospital Week 2026 runs from Sunday, May 10, through Saturday, May 16, 2026. Centered on the theme "Healing Happens Here," the week honors the dedicated professionals—nurses, physicians, and support staff—who sustain America’s healthcare systems. This annual event highlights the crucial role hospitals plays in community health.

Produced by Warner Bros. Television Group, the "A Lot More" podcast has garnered nearly 40 million views combined across social media since its launch.

The episodes will explore the making of The Pitt and reflect on its impact as a heartfelt tribute to the healthcare community.

A little more about the A Lot More Podcast

A Lot More is an official Warner Bros. Television Group podcast hosted by Jonathon Buckley, featuring candid, behind-the-scenes conversations with actors, producers, and creative teams from popular WBTV shows. Recorded at the studio lot in Burbank, California, the series explores the making of shows like The Pitt, Shrinking, and Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage.

A recent episode of the podcast featured actor John McGinley (Scrubs), who is now co-starring in a new HBO Max show called Rooster, starring Steve Carell. McGinley sat down with host Jonathon Buckley, and they talk about everything from his expansive career to his role as University president Walter Mann in Rooster, his time with his family, and a lot more!

A Lot More has become such a popular podcast that the company is now looking to do more after creating its own dedicated podcast studio on the Warner Bros. Studios Lot in Burbank, California.

IMDB

Jonathon Buckley, the host of A Lot More, is an Australian presenter and actor based in Los Angeles He has a diverse background in television and digital hosting, including roles on Discovery’s Translogic and NBC’s Siberia.

Before his work with Warner Bros., Buckley worked as a presenter for Omaze and has a background as an on-air personality in Australia.

“Buckley handles the host job on the podcast with aplomb, humor, and an inquisitive nature,” says podcast consultant George Witt.

The Pitt Prevails

Season 2 averaged over 15 million U.S. viewers per episode, a 50 percent increase from its first season, placing it alongside major hits like House of the Dragon and The Last of Us. The Season 2 finale reached a record 9.7 million U.S. viewers in its first weekend.

The show achieved 13 consecutive weeks of audience growth during its run. The Pitt was the only streaming show to surpass 1 billion minutes viewed in a single week in early 2026, repeating this milestone multiple times. The series has received high praise, including an "A+" grade from viewers in early reviews.

In March 2025, Forbes senior contributor Erik Kain called The Pitt "The Best Show On TV, And Noah Wyle Is Simply Brilliant."

The show is so popular that speculation about season three has reached a fever pitch. The show has already announced that Supriya Ganesh will not return as Dr. Samira Mohan, although many of her co-stars will be back for another day shift.

The Pitt has been widely recognized for pointing out significant flaws in the American healthcare system. The show, which premiered in 2025, is noted for its gritty, realistic, and often uncomfortable portrayal of the challenges faced by both patients and providers in an underfunded emergency department.

The series highlights the severe consequences of untreated, chronic conditions (like diabetes) because patients are uninsured or underinsured. Episodes frequently depict a "packed house," where patients are treated in hallways, and the staff is stretched beyond capacity, including critical shortages of nurses.

The HBO Max Show, The Pitt, addresses how Medicaid deficiencies affect vulnerable populations, including undocumented immigrants and those trapped just above the poverty line. The series also depicts instances of systemic racism, such as the dismissal of pain in patients of color (e.g., sickle cell crisis) and bias in treatment.

The Pitt portrays the extreme mental exhaustion, suicidal ideation, and PTSD experienced by healthcare workers, moving beyond the "hero" trope to show their vulnerability.

The Pitt is produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, where JWP is under an overall deal. R. Scott Gemmill created The Pitt and executive produces the series alongside John Wells.

“This is another win for podcasting,” notes George Witt. “In the past, podcasting wasn’t even considered when an entertainment company planned a media blitz. This Warner Bros. announcement proves that the company recognizes that the power of podcasting to leverage its other media assets, in this case a hit HBO Max show.”
