Throughout the past week, two legendary rock bands raced to the top spot on the Official Rock and Metal Albums chart, a United Kingdom-based ranking of the bestselling titles that fit under those genre labels. The competition was between Foo Fighters, whose latest full-length Your Favorite Toy was released just over a week ago, and Pink Floyd. That group delivered Live From The Los Angeles Sports Arena for Record Store Day 2026, and the collection debuted on multiple tallies in the U.K. last time around. Unlike many projects associated with the music industry event, the latest live project by Pink Floyd gains ground instead of disappearing. The two acts claim the bestselling rock releases in the country, but only one could come out on top.
Live From The Los Angeles Sports Arena settles for second place this time around on the Official Rock and Metal Albums chart, as Your Favorite Toy beats it to the penthouse. Pink Floyd debuted the record last time around at No. 6, and in its second turn on the tally, the full-length rockets all the way to No. 2. Had Foo Fighters shared Your Favorite Toy at another time, Pink Floyd would have scored yet another ruler.
Live From The Los Angeles Sports Arena is one of more than half a dozen releases by Pink Floyd to miss the No. 1 space on the Official Rock and Metal Albums chart by just one spot. One take on The Dark Side Of The Moon – one of the bestselling albums of all time – peaked at No. 2, while another version went all the way to No. 1. It’s not unusual for massive blockbusters like The Dark Side Of The Moon to appear on rankings in the U.K. more than once due to Official Charts Company rules.
In fact, both an alternate take of The Dark Side Of The Moon and a live recording stalled at No. 2. Here are all of the Pink Floyd releases that peaked at No. 2 on the Official Rock and Metal Albums chart.
Pink Floyd has seen just as many collections rule the Official Rock and Metal Albums chart as peak in the runner-up rung. That grouping includes all-time fan favorites like Wish You Were Here and The Endless River, as well as, of course, The Dark Side Of The Moon. Pink Floyd earned another No. 1 just last year when At Pompeii – MCMXXII spent two weeks running the show. Here are all of Pink Floyd’s No. 1s on the Official Rock and Metal Albums chart.
Foo Fighters keeps its winning streak going with one more champion on the Official Rock and Metal Albums chart, as Your Favorite Toy launches in first place. The group has racked up a total of a dozen leaders throughout the decades. That list includes the group’s two most recent additions to the tally, But Here We Are and now Your Favorite Toy, as well as several previous traditional studio albums like Concrete And Gold, Medicine At Midnight, and others.

In its second week, Live From The Los Angeles Sports Arena vaults to new highs on three rosters. The set also breaks into the top 10 on both the Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums charts, surging from No. 73 to No. 5 on the pair of connected tallies. The live project also debuts at No. 46 on the Official Albums ranking, which details the most-consumed full-lengths and EPs in the U.K., using both sales and streaming data.
