Billie Eilish Kicks Off Second North American Leg On "Hit Me Hard And Soft: The Tour"

Shortly after her concert movie took over the planet, Billie Eilish's Hit Me Hard and Soft reaches an important chart milestone. Billie Eilish's album Hit Me Hard and Soft returned to prominence recently after the superstar released a concert film titled, appropriately, Billie Eilish: Hit Me Hard and Soft. The movie focuses on her concert in Manchester in the United Kingdom, and is co-directed by the singer herself, as well as Academy Award winner James Cameron. Billie Eilish: Hit Me Hard and Soft has brought in more than $25 million at the box office, making it a hugely successful concert movie. The project arrived in theaters shortly before the LP reached a longevity milestone – one which the Grammy and Oscar winner has seen before.

Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft Reaches Two Years

This time around, Hit Me Hard and Soft returns to the top 40 on the Billboard 200, the chart company's list of the 200 most-consumed albums and EPs in America. The gain is due largely thanks to the success of the movie, and as it climbs, Hit Me Hard and Soft reaches 104 weeks – exactly two years – on the most competitive albums roster in the nation.

Billie Eilish Hits That Milestone for the Fourth Time

Hit Me Hard and Soft is one of only three full-lengths by Eilish, but it is her fourth project to spend two years on the Billboard 200. Her first complete LP, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, is up to 361 turns on the tally, while an even earlier EP, Don't Smile at Me, trails by nearly 100 frames. That short effort, which debuted in November 2017 and reached its No. 14 peak in January 2019, has appeared on the Billboard 200 269 times. Happier Than Ever, her sophomore full-length, has thus far racked up 230 stays somewhere on the list.

Billie Eilish Claims Another Four Less Successful Releases

Half of Eilish's eight projects to break onto the Billboard 200 have now spent at least two years on the rundown. Four not-yet-mentioned releases have not yet cracked a month.

Prime Day Show X Billie Eilish, an EP released in collaboration with Amazon Prime Music, debuted at No. 87 in the summer of 2021 and spent four weeks on the chart. Another trio of titles – Live at Third Man Records, the Live EP and Hit Me Hard and Soft (Isolated Vocals) – all landed on the tally just once.

Hit Me Hard and Soft Celebrates the Same Milestone Almost Everywhere

This week, Hit Me Hard and Soft can be found on four Billboard charts, and it celebrates two years on all but one of them. In addition to the Billboard 200, the Grammy-nominated studio effort reaches the same milestone on both the Top Rock & Alternative Albums and Top Alternative Albums rankings.

Hit Me Hard and Soft reappears on the Top Streaming Albums chart this frame due to an uptick in interest, connected to the movie. The set is back at No. 45, and it is nearing 100 weeks on that streaming-only rundown.

When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? Rebounds

Eilish's concert film has proved so successful that When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? mounts something of a comeback as well. The Grammy winner for Album of the Year is back on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums list at No. 49, and it simultaneously reenters the Billboard 200 at No. 191.

Billie Eilish’s Latest Live Album Slips

Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live) debuted on multiple Billboard charts last week, and it holds on two of them for a second period. The title, which is attached to her theatrical release, dips from No. 6 to No. 18 on the Vinyl Albums tally and from No. 9 to No. 36 on the Top Album Sales roster.
