Earlier this year, Elvis Presley proved to be a draw at the box office, just as he once was decades ago. Baz Luhrmann, who has spent years honoring the rock legend and working with the Presley estate, released a concert film/documentary hybrid titled Epic – an acronym that stands for Elvis Presley in Concert.
The film, which earned more than $23 million globally, came with an accompanying soundtrack album, and that set, somewhat unsurprisingly, became a top performer. That’s not unusual for the King of Rock and Roll, even decades after his death, but it’s nonetheless noteworthy.
Epic returns to multiple charts in the United Kingdom this frame, and Presley even manages to find his way back to No. 1 on one of them.
Epic surges back to the summit on the Official Soundtrack Albums chart. Last time around, Epic dipped to No. 3, its lowest placement yet in the nearly two months it has spent as one of the most popular soundtracks in the U.K. Now in its eighth turn on the rundown, Epic earns its third stint leading the way.

Epic doubled Presley’s total number of No. 1s on the Official Soundtrack Albums chart when it debuted just last month. Presley first conquered in 2005 with Elvis by the Presleys. He almost added a second winner in 2018 with The Searcher, though that set stalled in second place.
With just eight weeks to its credit on the Official Soundtrack Albums chart, Epic already ranks as one of Presley’s sturdiest appearances on the list. Elvis by the Presleys remains his longest-charting title with 40 frames on the roster, while The Searcher managed 22. Several other collections, including Blue Hawaii, G.I. Blues, and NBC TV Special / Aloha from Hawaii, didn’t make it to a month on the ranking.
One legacy act replaces another atop the Official Soundtrack Albums chart this week. As Presley regains control over the specific list, he ousts Prince and The Revolution, who last time around dominated with Purple Rain. That title, which has spent well over 1,000 weeks on the Official Soundtrack Albums rundown, only declines one position to No. 2, forcing KPop Demon Hunters to similarly slide backward one slot.

At the same time that Epic regains its control over the Official Soundtrack Albums chart, the compilation of sorts reenters the Official Physical Albums and Official Albums Sales lists. Epic is back at No. 91 on the ranking of the bestselling releases on CD, cassette, or vinyl, and at No. 95 on the general sales tally. Epic, which is up to six turns on the pair of registers, did not conquer either of them, as it did on the Official Soundtrack Albums chart. Instead, Presley’s posthumous project topped out at No. 5.
Two different full-lengths by Presley appear on the U.K. charts at the moment, but there’s no crossover between them. Elvis: 30 Number One Hits declines from No. 57, where it sat only days ago, on both the Official Albums and Official Albums Streaming charts. This time around, it hits No. 64 on the streaming ranking and No. 69 on the look at the 100 most-consumed collections in the nation.
Unlike Epic, Elvis: 30 Number One Hits is not a bestseller, though it is the compilation that most fans focus on when they want to stream Presley’s most famous singles.
