Lee Cronin’s The Mummy, which is the Evil Dead Rise filmmaker’s terrifying take on Mummy movie lore, is new in theaters. How soon will it be coming to streaming?
Written and directed by the title’s namesake, Lee Cronin’s The Mummy opens in theaters nationwide on Friday. In the film, TV journalist Charlie Cannon (Jack Reynor), his wife, Larissa (Laia Costa), and their two kids are residing in Cairo while Charlie is on assignment when the youngest child, Katie (Natalie Grace), goes missing.

Eight years later, Egyptian officials contact Charlie and Larissa — who have moved home to New Mexico — to tell them that Katie has been located. Katie, however, was found bound in ritualistic wrappings in a 3,000-year-old sarcophagus, and when freed, she is physically decimated and exists in a catatonic state.
When Katie does begin to regain cognitive abilities, her bizarre behavior that leads to horrific incidents that turn her family’s hopeful dream reunion with her into a living nightmare.
Rated R, Lee Cronin’s The Mummy also stars May Calamawy and Veronica Falcón and is produced by horror film luminaries James Wan, Jason Blum and John Keville.

The first place Lee Cronin’s The Mummy will be available in the home entertainment marketplace is on digital streaming via premium video on demand. Generally, Warner Bros., the studio that distributed Lee Cronin’s The Mummy — the film was produced by the studio’s subsidiary New Line Cinema — has a one-month to six-week window between the day its films premiere in theaters and the day it arrives on PVOD.
For example, the Warner Bros. horror thriller Weapons made its debut on PVOD on Sept. 9, 2025, about a month after it premiered in theaters on Aug. 8, 2025. In addition, the studio’s horror thriller The Conjuring: Last Rites made its debut on PVOD on Oct. 7, 2025, about a month after it opened in theaters on Sept. 5, 2025.

However, Warner Bros.’ romantic drama Wuthering Heights arrived on PVOD on March 31, about six weeks after it premiered in theaters on Feb. 13.
Should Lee Cronin’s The Mummy follow the same release pattern as the above-listed titles, then the film will likely arrive on PVOD sometime between May 19 and June 2, since new film titles generally arrive on digital platforms on Tuesdays.
Since Lee Cronin’s The Mummy is being distributed by Warner Bros., the film will make its streaming video on demand debut on Warner Bros. Discovery’s HBO Max streaming service.
Generally, there is a 75- to 85-day window between the time Warner Bros.’ films open in theaters and debut on SVOD on HBO Max.
Weapons, for example, arrived on HBO Max on Oct. 24, 2025, 77 days after it opened in theaters on Aug. 8, 2025. Also, The Conjuring: Last Rites arrived on SVOD on Nov. 21, 2025, 77 days after it opened in theaters on Sept. 5, 2025.

Should Lee Cronin’s The Mummy follow the same release pattern, the film will likely arrive on HBO Max on July 3 or July 10, since new films premiere on the streaming platform on Fridays.
