Just weeks after his latest album The Romantic debuted at No. 1 on multiple Billboard charts, Bruno Mars's Record Store Day set Collaborations launches on several lists. The fact that Bruno Mars has only released four solo albums is rather incredible, given how successful he has been since breaking out as a superstar more than 15 years ago. Mars has also delivered one collaborative project, An Evening with Silk Sonic, as one half of that super duo alongside his friend Anderson .Paak.
The Grammy winner is known to space his projects apart by several years, and Mars made fans wait an entire decade between his two most recent solo collections, 24K Magic and The Romantic. But perhaps his pace is quickening.
Less than two months after dropping The Romantic, Mars collects a new top 10 album on multiple Billboard charts – though the music featured on his latest release will be familiar to not only his diehard followers, but anyone who’s tuned into top 40 radio in the past decade.
Collaborations launches on two Billboard rosters this frame, and it’s a top 10 success on both of them. The compilation, which acts as a greatest hits album – even though it misses several of his most popular solo cuts – opens at No. 5 on the Vinyl Albums rundown and at No. 10 on the Top Album Sales chart.
Mars earns his fourth top 10 on the Vinyl Albums chart, which is centered entirely around the country’s bestselling releases on wax. He’s led the charge twice, with both The Romantic and An Evening with Silk Sonic, while 24K Magic stalled one space higher than where Collaborations arrives. Mars’s debut collection Doo-Wops & Hooligans opened and peaked at No. 13 in 2020, years after it turned him into a household name.
The hitmaker has collected half a dozen top 10s on the Top Album Sales chart. That tally includes vinyl purchases as well as sales via digital download storefronts and on CD and cassette.
Mars also claims two No. 1s, with The Romantic and an earlier project, Unorthodox Jukebox, running the show for one frame apiece. 24K Magic missed out on running the show by one slot, while both Doo-Wops & Hooligans and An Evening with Silk Sonic climbed as high as No. 3.

Just as is the case on the vinyl roster, only one title by Mars has landed on the list but failed to enter the top 10. Mars’s introductory EP It’s Better If You Don’t Understand, which preceded Doo-Wops & Hooligans by several months, managed one turn at No. 99, a position that no longer exists on the truncated ranking.
