The Young Bucks Def. Konosuke Takeshita And Kazuchika Okada
Everybody in this match was treated as a babyface. Okada was in full-on AEW mode, which is to say he worked at a much slower pace.
Nick Jackson had a great springboard double armdrag on Okada and Takeshita, bringing the crowd to its feet. Jackson followed up with an assisted springboard moonsault onto Takeshita an Okada.
Okada had a great counter to the Bucks’ assisted tope, slamming Nick Jackson on his brother’s backside.
Takeshita pummeled Nick Jackson on the outside. Callis cashed in on a threat from earlier, raking Nick’s eyeballs to a huge chorus of boos. Chants of “F Don Callis” rained down from the Rogers Arena.
The Young Bucks locked in stereo Sharpshooters. Takeshita stopped Okada from tapping out and the two engaged in a literal slapfight while locked in the submission holds.
The Bucks hit a series of impressive double-team moves capped off by a stereo senton splash and flying elbow drop. Okada and Takeshita countered the EVP Driver with stereo piledrivers for a nearfall.
The Young Bucks hit a phenomenal chain Canadian Destroyer on both Takeshita and Okada. It had to be seen to be believed. Takeshita accidentally hit Okada with a running knee. The Young Bucks went for the EVP Trigger, but Konosuke countered with a double clothesline. Okada “accidentally” hit a Rainmaker on Takeshita.
The Young Bucks hit an EVP Trigger on Okada for a nearfall. Takeshita stopped Nick Jackson from hitting the EVP Driver, but then he let go, allowing the Young Bucks to perform the move. The Young Bucks hit the EVP Driver for the win.

Ricochet Def. Chris Jericho
Chris Jericho received a loud, hero’s welcome in Vancouver. Jericho was over-the-top as a babyface, using every trick in the book to get the crowd as loud as possible. Every trick worked. This is the reaction Jericho was going for in his return a couple weeks ago.
Fans chanted “you still got it” as a sparkly Jericho continued to suspiciously play up his new babyface persona. Jericho grabbed the camera as fans chanted “bald!” Jericho looked into the camera and said (about Ricochet) “he’s bald.”
Jericho got the crowd clapping and locked up with Ricochet who did an impressive handstand flip over Jericho. Ricochet called back to the biggest moment of his career with a backflip onto his knee. Fans booed.
Ricochet stuck Jericho with a Death Valley Driver on the apron. Twitter Ricky followed up with a picture-perfect suicide dive. The Gates of Agony got involved behind referee Aubrey Edwards’ back.
Jericho babyfaced his way through a hold as fans chanted “Y2J!” Jericho hit a Lionsault as Vancouver erupted. Jericho went for the Walls of Jericho, but Ricochet countered. Jericho transitioned into a headlock. Jericho playfully draped his own hair over a bald Ricochet.
Y2J hit a Codebreaker out of nowhere for a nearfall. Jericho and Ricochet went back-and-forth with “yeah/boo” punches, respectively. Jericho hit 10 punches and a hurricanrana. Jericho kicked out of Ricochet’s Vertigo as fans rallied.
Ricochet went for a Shooting Star, but Jericho caught Ricochet with a Codebreaker. Fans went nuts, but Ricochet kicked out and it let the air out of the building. This should have been the finish.
Fans broke into “this is awesome” chants. Jericho locked in the Walls of Jericho. Bishop Kaun distracted the referee and Toa Liona helped Ricochet grab the rope. Jericho dived onto the Demand on the outside, only to be ran over by Toa Liona.
Jericho kicked out of a Shooting Star Press as this match dragged on. Ricochet followed up with a Lionsault for the win.
Match Grade: A-
Darby Allin Def. Andrade El Idolo
Fans chanted for Darby to start the match. Andrade trapped Darby in a Surfboard/Tapatia hold. Andrade recreated the Bianca Belair stair step climb from WrestleMania 37, but he almost tripped. Andrade recovered and dumped Darby in the ring.
Andrade took a selfie with a mamacita, but was quickly blasted with a Coffin Drop. Darby and Andrade were on the outside of the ring for no less than two minutes as they battled into the crowd. Andrade took a bump on the stair steps.
Back in the ring, Andrade hit the Three Amigos on Darby Allin. The third was on the turnbuckles. Andrade hit an insane moonsault while Darby was in the fireman’s carry position, but Darby countered with a crossface. Darby went flying to the outside like a silver bullet once again, crashing into Andrade and the announce desk. They were outside for no less than 90 seconds, with Darby hitting a missile dropkick while Andrade was seated.
Andrade suplexed Darby on the outside of the ring as fans chanted “holy s—t!” Fans chanted “take your pants off” as Andrade obliged. Andrade hit a double-jump suplex on Allin for a nearfall.
Allin hit a Coffin Drop for a nearfall where Andrade grabbed Aubrey’s arm. Aubrey scolded Andrade as fans chanted “Aubrey Edwards!” Andrade hit a spinning elbow for another false finish. Darby twisted up Andrade like a pretzel for the rollup finish.
Match Grade: A-
FTR Def. Cope And Cage
Fans struggled through a singalong of Cope’s theme music and didn’t even stick the landing. Christian Cage led fans through a rendition of “Oh, Canada” as he worked over both members of FTR.
Christian hit 20-count punches on both members of FTR. Christian hit a low blow on Cash Wheeler and dumped both to the outside. Christian dived to the outside on Dax and Cash. Dax hit a three-blow combination on Christian. Cash broke up the pinfall after a Killswitch and killed Christian’s momentum by draping Cage’s arm over the top rope.
FTR worked over Christian’s left arm for an extended period of time. Cope and Cage teased a hot tag, but Dax cut them off. Christian hit a flying headbutt and finally tagged in. Adam Copeland took the fight to FTR with live rounds.
FTR, Cope and Cage stalemated on a Power and Glory spot. All power, no glory, but the spot looked awesome. Wheeler tried to bring a belt into the ring. A tug-of-war with Christian resulted in a rollup by Cope, but Cash hit Cope with a stiff belt shot. A bloody Cope kicked out.
Cope chased Stoke into a Shatter Machine, but Christian threw Stoke into the ring and he inadvertently broke up the pin. Dax tossed out Stoke and ate a Spear for another nearfall.
Cope ducked an FTR Trigger and answered with a double spear to a huge pop. Cope missed a second spear and ate a Shatter Machine for the loss.
Match Grade: B+

Thekla Def. Jamie Hayter
Thekla had a helluva time removing her entrance gear and needed help from referee Stephon Smith. Fans chanted for Jamie Hayter during the delay.
Jamie Hayter carried Thekla up most of the ramp in the suplex position. Thekla stuck Hayter with a DDT as the women spent no less than two minutes outside of the ring. Tony Schiavone covered for the referee by calling it “referee’s discretion.”
Thekla took over after a dive to the outside. Thekla dropped Hayter with a slap and then trapped her in a Black Widow armbar. Thekla obliterated Hayter with a potato kick to the face. Hayter seemed okay, and she answered with a suplex on the apron.
Jamie Hayter hit a beautiful Liger Bomb for a nearfall. Thekla rolled up Hayter and grabbed her tights, but Hayter kicked out at the last second and stuck Thekla with a tombstone.
Thekla rolled up Jamie in the spider position and grabbed the bottom rope for the win.
Match Grade: B
Jon Moxley Def. Will Ospreay
Will Ospreay glared at Renee Paquette as she delivered her pre-match ringside report. The second the bell rang, Ospreay wiped Moxley out with a Hidden Blade. Fans went wild as Ospreay basked in Mox’s pain. Ospreay observed the 20-minute time limit and hit a second Hidden Blade, bloodying Moxley.
Ospreay went for a receipt, or a running kick into the stair step, but Mox moved and stuck Ospreay with a Paradigm Shift on the floor. Mox hit a sleeper suplex and pummeled Ospreay.
Mox teased a piledriver on the apron, but Ospreay fought out of it. Ospreay went to the top rope, but was met with a forearm from Mox in midair. Ospreay went for a third Hidden Blade, but took another sleeper suplex. Mox hit a full nelson Paradigm Shift immediately followed by a Hidden Blade from Ospreay.
A frustrated Ospreay shoved referee Paul Turner to the ground. Cooler heads prevailed, and Ospreay transitioned from a jackknife to a Style Clash for a nearfall. Will hit a fourth Hidden Blame, but sold that he was dealing with a stinger in his left arm.
At the five-minute call, Mox kicked out of the Hidden Blade. Ospreay went for the Tiger Driver 91, but lost his strength and dropped Mox. The action spilled to the outside and Mox drilled Ospreay with a piledriver on the steel step.
Doc Samson checked on Ospreay, but Paul Turner finally decided he was going to do a 10 count. Paul Turner got to nine, and Ospreay made it to the ring at the last second. Moxley struck with a curb stomp and two Paradigm Shifts for another nearfall. Mox hit a Death Rider for the win.
Match Grade: B+
The Conglomeration Def. The Dogs
There was a great multi-camera sitcom-style entrance that led to the reveal of Kyle Fletcher as the third man. The Dogs walked out and David Finlay wrecked the door with the shillelagh. Clark Connors humped the couch and Gabe Kidd legitimately peed on it.
Connors and Finlay hit a spear/suplex combination on Kyle O’Reilly on the outside of the ring. Roderick Strong had a great hot tag where he used Orange Cassidy as a weapon for multiple moves.
Gabe Kidd took himself out of the match as he received medical attention. Kyle O’Reilly made the hot tag as the hometown hero rained down with strikes and kicks. O’Reilly caught Connors in an ankle lock as Connors tapped out.
Match Grade: B-
MJF Vs. Kenny Omega
Kenny Omega received God and devil entrances, respectively. Fans taunted MJF with “you got hairplugs” chants as the match began. Omega hit a dive early in the match, signaling his midsection was okay. Omega charged at MJF, but MJF hit a drop toe hold on the barricade.
Omega quickly recovered with a moonsault off the barricade on MJF. MJF mocked Omega and went for a V-Trigger, but Omega cut him off and launched into a comeback. Omega scored with “you can’t escape" for a nearfall.
Omega went for a One-Winged Angel, but MJF escaped. MJF escaped a bottom-rope One-Winged Angel and attempted a second-rope piledriver. Omega escaped. Fans went back-and-forth chanting for Omega and MJF.
Omega went for the Heatseeker, but slingshotted MJF into the ring and caught him with an RKO. Omega went for “you can’t escape,” but Omega countered and wiped him out with a V-Trigger.
Omega hit an Ibushi-style moonsault to the outside and began selling his stomach. Omega went for a V-Trigger but was met with a knee to the midsection. MJF hit a second knee to the midsection.
Omega fought back and went to the top rope, but MJF stopped him with a punch to the abdomen. Omega hit a One-Winged Angel off the turnbuckle. Omega hit a snap dragon suplex and two V-Triggers for a nearfall.
Omega struggled to his feet and MJF took advantage with a Cross Rhodes and a package piledriver. Two count. Omega opened up with a cavalcade of offense, but when he went for the V-Trigger, MJF pulled Bryce Remsburg in front of Omega.
MJF retrieved his Dynamite Diamond Ring, but Omega caught him with a One Winged Angel for a visual 10 count. Paul Turner ran in but MJF kicked out. MJF became the first wrestler to kick out of the One Winged Angel in an AEW ring.
MJF hit the body of Omega with the ring followed by a Tombstone piledriver through a table. MJF hit the Heatseeker for the win.
