Formula 1 heads to Spielberg June 26-28 for the eighth round of the 2026 season, the Austrian Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton arrives at the Red Bull Ring on a real high after securing his long-awaited first grand prix victory with Ferrari last time out in Barcelona and emerging as a potential title contender.

The seven-time world champion is now 41 points behind current leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli of Mercedes, who came away empty-handed in Spain following his retirement in the closing laps of the race due to an engine failure.

Heading to Austria, Hamilton looks to add another win to his tally and pose a serious threat to Antonelli’s title ambitions as the Briton chases a record eighth world championship.

Meanwhile, Antonelli needs to shake off his misfortune and grab that win in Spielberg to further stretch his lead and avoid any more trouble in his maiden title bid.

George Russell, who grabbed second place in Spain following his teammate’s retirement, will also be hoping to reclaim his form this weekend and get back into title contention, having been considered the early championship favorite when he took the win in the season opener in Melbourne, Australia.

Max Verstappen, the driver with the most victories and pole positions at the Red Bull Ring (5), is also hoping he can challenge for his first win of the season on Red Bull’s home turf, while McLaren aims to get back on top of the podium through Oscar Piastri or defending champion Lando Norris, who took the win there last year.
